In this adventure game directed by Goichi Suda (of Killer 7 fame), you play as Travis Touchdown, a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak to him) who wins a Beam Katana through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer. One day, an assassin named Helter Skelter appears before Travis and the two face off in a battle. Travis emerges victorious and finds himself in the presence of Silvia Christel, a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA. Silvia gives Travis official rank of 11 in the organization. Now, it's up to you to become #1.
No More Heroes takes place in the city of Santa Destroy, and you are free to explore the town to your liking, taking on missions large and small to collect money and purchase new weapons as you work up towards the 10 main killing contracts. Gameplay is all about using your Beam Katana (via Wii remote) to defeat enemies. so its a little bit like GTA

Damn, a No More Heroes thread isnt here yet?! This game looks truely amazing.

Source (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/839/839222p1.html)

No More Heroes centers around a killer by the name of Travis Touchdown. After booting the game up you're instantly greeted by Travis as he recalls the most recent moments of his life up until the point that you, the gamer, are going to take over. Travis seems to be like any other young adult out there, as he enjoys the world of J-Pop and J-Rock music, builds Gundam robots in his spare time, digs pro wrestling (Suda's own nod to his love of the "sport") and enjoys the occasional videogame.

http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/839/839222/no-more-heroes-20071203055149657.jpg

This all goes downhill when he gets turned down at the local game shop for not having enough green for the game, so to speak, and instead hits the bar. After a few drinks he meets a smoking hot babe who convinces him to kill someone for her, and his life as an assassin enjoys one hell of a jumpstart. Now thinking of nothing but becoming number one on the all-time deadliest assassins list, Travis lives the life of a punk rocker samurai, upholding the rules of honor and sportsmanship as he slices people in half (the long way) with a makeshift light saber.

Cmon, you cant say no to a game like this!

Discuss what your views on this game. Oh and eurofags have decided to not have ANY blood in this game, whereas amerifags get blood, japafags dont get the blood though, so i guess its not just us.

Two awesome video's, can't wait for the reviews to start rolling in. The games graphics and fighting style appear quite unique, not sure I like the look of all that flying money, a bit odd for a game like this.

Jakku

I think its going for an arcade look, thats what I definately assumed from the second I saw it. It is so much more awesome with the US version, which has totally rediculous blood sprays, instead of the coins.

Uncensored version
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=28497"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=28497" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>

EDIT: Ok, so you still get coins, but the blood kinda over-rules the coins ;P.

I'm thinking we may need to devise another bank robbery to fund these upcoming games. We need to bag more than our previous attempts though. 12 pounds between 6 of us just wasn't enough ;)

Either that or I'll see if Gamestation will take my cat as a trade-in.

As sad as it gets, I told my electronics teacher I "had to go at half 4", despite the project being in for next thursday, rushed to the trainstation and into town, got a newspaper, got no more heroes, got the train back for 6(:O damn trains), then played it for 5 hours straight :|.

Honestly, if you dont own this game, or haven't pre-ordered it, DO IT. It is abso-****ing-loutly a must have. Everything is brilliant about it, I cant actually stress at how awesome it is. One problem is getting around. If your like me and want to collect everything, your bound to zoom past it on your bike, but walking is too darn slow. Also, the bike is a bitch to control. The fighting is amazing though, the bbosses are unique and awesome, the cut scenes are hilarious, the graphical style is beautiful, even the game manual looks awesome.

definate 10/10.

Anyone else purchased this game? I think it seems to have been forgotten about with all the great new releases. Must admit I went for Bully over this (and have loved every hour I've dedicated to it) but now find myself addicted to Mario Kart Wii and WiiFit.

Just wondered if anyone else had picked up a copy and what their opinion is of it.

I preordered it, so got it on release day, and thinks to self, all I need do now is wait for Gail to be on afternoons then I can spend a few nights on it. Butttttt, youngest nephew came round to ours, saw it, borrowed it, and I've not seen it since.

Must remember to ring him and get it back, then I can put Bully away as well. :D

I understand where you're coming from. I've decided not to loan any of my Wii games out. I loaned a couple out last year and only got them back recently.

Glad to see another Bully fan out there. It's one of the funniest games I've ever played.

Aaaaanyway, if you eventually get it back I'd look forward to hearing your opinion on it :)
