Hey everyone, i was browsing threw Ign.com and i found this video demonstrating how to save a game and how abouts you do this (Is this case F-ZERO) The video seems quite self-explanitary and the Wii makes it quite easy to save a game.

Tell me what you think..

Yeah i've seen it before, it's not bad, you can't play games saved on SD's, but you can copy them across and then play.

Also what i think is great the SD cards are compatable with most digital camra's so you can keep photo/videos of your own the the Wii. Neat!!

What do you mean when you say you can't play VC games saved to the SD card?

If you can't then what the hell is the point? I've used up nearly all the memory that is built into the console, and I bought a 2Gb SD card, because I wanted to have the games stored on there.

I've also noticed that some games can't be completely copied over. It says that some of the files couldn't be transfered or somesuch.

Bit of a waste of time. Nintendo should have designed it so that the SD card actually extends the memory, rather than making it seperate. Or even better, they could have done both, or given you two ports.

I think they wanted to prevent piracy. For example, if your friend downloaded a VC game and put it onto their SD card, what's to stop them duplicating the file onto another SD card and giving it to you.

I agree the Wii should have more built in memory, but if you have to delete any VC games you've donwloaded from your built-in memory, you can download them again at no extra cost. A bit of a pain but from a business POV it makes sense.

The fact that Nintendo have said openly and repeatedly that the games are locked to the console, not the media they are saved to.

That is why the online shop knows which games you have bought and downloaded.

So I think it is Nintendo just being overly protective of the DL games.

All they would need to do is make the machine write some code to make the SD cards unusable on another Wii.

But that would be easy, and maybe someone will crack it (which is likely seeing as people have hacked in to the Pentagon, but thats not surprising either)

I don't see why this wouldn't work for those of us who do keep on the right side of the law.
