Have just completed the first dungeon, and I'm finding this game pretty ordinary. So far I've been running about holding down z and waving my wii-remote around like an idiot -> sword fighting could have been so much better to be fair. Puzzles seem pretty straightforward and boring for the most part, and midna is annoying the hell out of me. Graphics are average, and the game isn't really drawing me in at all.
Are these fair comments, or does the game get drastically better from here on in?

well i love the game... but it pains me to admit i think you make some valid points so... now youve planted seeds of doubt in me head... i think jury's still out for me. is this love? or just lust? played about 20 hours and not gone back much since i got warioware. we must believe things r gonna get better!

I been playing it about 8 hours total so far, and as far as gameplay goes, probably the best zelda game i have played. Quests and puzzles i agree so far after just playing the first boss are pretty easy, got stuck on a few but nothing that takes more then 5 minutes to figure out. Im sure they get harder and better as you get along.
With all the goods and bads put together i'd still say its a great game and just stick it out and enjoy it as much as possible.

Strange. Personally i've been hooked on it and haven't done anything else in my spare time, practically, apart from play it.
I'm 40 hours in and i think i'm nearing the end and there are only a couple things i am disapointed with.
The first being the fact that the sword can't be controlled with 1:1 movements (as in, if you move your arm right, so does Link). It may have got annoying after a while but maybe if it had the option to turn it on/off it would have been nice.
Without giving too much away to those who haven't got this far yet, but in the sandy sort of dungeon you get a new item about half way through the dungeon (like every other Zelda dungeon there ever was :P) and i thought it was really cool but it was barely used in the dungeon and i've used it only a couple of times since.

cool. i cought sight ofa couple of spoilers in a mag, and they have encouraged me 2 fight on. not sure why i've become so impatient, must be the quik fire, quick hit arcade action that i love from my wii

mmmm, it is getting better now that ive got out of that first dungeon. One qusetion: when I'm exiting karakiko village from the north and that troubled mailman stops me, he tells me that karakiko goods has a new item i wont find anywhere else. I can't actually find the shop though :( - there's only that shop with one of the baby children where I got the Hylian shield.

Rraze there is another shop (a bomb shop) at the beginning of Kakariko Village, i cant really explain where it is but its on the end of the run-down houses. just keep trying each door and you should find it.
Hope this helps, and im glad you enjoying Zelda a little more now.

well, they are gamecube graphics this game was originally made for gamcube, but trust me when you play more of the game you will enjoy it more. 1st zelda dungeons aren't made really to be much of a challenge. take great deku tree for example, who struggled there? the game gets more challenging later on but still isn't obscenely difficult.

I've just completed it and the ending's pretty good but a bit sad.
One thing that's a bit lame is that you can't save the game once you've completed it after the credits so you're stuck in a limbo before fighting the final boss.
Excellent game though, really enjoyed it.

right, my previous comments about this game need to be revised. the game IS crap in my opinion for the first 4 hours or so. After this, the game becomes amazing because it gives you the freedom to do whatever you want. Also i realised i was getting annoyed because of having to start at the beginning of a dungeon despite saves and lacking the proper coordination to make simple platform jumps :(
the game's got a ridiculous amount of depth on investigation and some REALLY nice touches (i went back to ordon as a wolf, howled for a hawk, and the hawk apologised for attacking me earlier and showed me where some items were !)

Here I am... all bugs found... game completed... just 8 poe's away from finding them all... just *2* pieces of heart away from 20... cave of labours complete... and then you go and stun me with that bit of news.
That's why I love Zelda. Now matter how complete you *think* you are, there's always more. :D Cheers rraze.
i can make up my mind about it :( i think i still prefer OoT to be honest, but ill wait till ive finished it before i eally give an opinion

I'm a great fan of OoT but i have to say TP is definatly better. Foz i understand you started playing TP on your gamecube before you got your Wii.. Did you just pack it in and then start on your Wii then?
Good idea aswel and im sure you'll love the ending!

even though i've barely scratched the surface of TP, I'd deffo say it is better than OOT, just because of the way you control it, waving the wiimote to attack is so much fun and really involves you in the game, you can react much quicker to attacks whih i like.
The graphics are much better too.

i'm disappointed with this game.
i enjoyed the first few dungeons but then it just got silly.
it doesn't match the oot timeline at all and it's getting sooo repetitive.
i prefered oot and wind waker lol

this is the greatest game ever, its so long and enjoyable, if there was no such game as ocarina of time then it would probably have been the best game ever made, but there is ocarina of time so it ever so slightly knocks points of because some bits are copied. Its still an awesome game though
