3rd light tears, big bug.

stuck on the bit where to get the last light tear u have to fight the big bug in the middle of the lake.i have taken him down and bitten off his legs many times, obviously i am doing something else wrong, can anyone help.been playing for around 10hrs strait and lost all sence of reality,if i dont beet this bug i may chew my own arm off.
