A few days into playing with my Wii, (mainly RedSteel) in the middle of me playing a game the screen fills up with green dots! I was like WTF!!. At first it only happened in Red Steel, but them i noticed it in Wii Sports as well. :( A little browse around on google revealed some other people have been experiencing the same thing - and it is pretty much terminal.
Spoke to Woolies who (opviously) couldn't do anything about it and put me through to Nintendo UK. The guy on the phone was pretty pleasant and he pretty much stratright away told me it was the grpahic card and that i'd have to send it in for replacement.
THey will copy my Mii's/savegames , etc to the new console and I only need to send the console itself and the AV cable.

Thing is, the turn around time is something like 2 weeks!!!

Gutted.

gutted mate, when my PSP was fauly they sent me a refurbished one instead of fixing mine then sending it back so that I got a new one quicker, but they cant do that since you need your saves. Cest la vie!

Ok, Got a Wii back this morning!! :D bit of a shock, as i was expecting a two week wait!.
Just tested it with Red Steel, works perfectly now!. Not sure if it's a refurb or not, but i did lose all my saves and Mii's. Luckily i hadn't got that far in Re d Steel!!

Handed in Wii to post office Monday @ 3:00pm
Received Wii on Friday @ 11:00am!

Mine has started with the green and black dots. Nintendo said its a fault with the wifi card heating the gpu. Its terminal. LOL, oh well. If you use wiiconnect24 be careful.

Its becoming a very common problem too. He said there isnt a fix, they just replace it and finger crossed it doesnt happen again. Some people are on their 3rd wii since launch.

I got it sent this afternoon. 7 - 10 days they said before i get one back. Anyone else had this happen? It starts as a few black or green dots then turns to patches.
