are you broadcasting your SSID on your wireless network? You will need to for the Wii to pick it up...

I assume your router is a wireless router? I know it's fairly obvious but I have to ask....sorry :D

Go here and have a read. It is pretty self explanatory.

You need to find out what encryption your dad is using on the network, what the SSID is and if he is using MAC filtering. If he isn't using MAC filtering then just the other 2.
Once you know what encryption he is using he will need to tell you the key.

Do you know how to get into the routers configuration screen? If not you need to. First thing to do is make sure its set to 802.11b or 802.11g. Next make sure you have it set to channel 1 or 11. Also, you will be able see your security setting. Check it's on WEP or WPA and write down the security number. As for the Key, this should be set at 1.
Good luck.....hope this helps

To get to the configuration menu it generally tells you in the instuctions, under advanced settings, however if you look your specific router version up on the Internet i'm sure someone will know the address. Hope that helps.
