They're asking for £240 for the wii console and sports pack, seems a bit of a rip off to me...usually retails for £179.99!

actually i have to be honest and say site is a superb company!
ive been trying to get a Wii since before xmas and had no luck at all...to say this guy is ripping people off is bullcrap!!!
take a look at amazon! £350+ take a look at ebay....£250+ and if you trust the thieving gits at ebay with that kind of cash then your mad and i wish you luck with your purchase of a brick!!
i bought of this site last week.....chap phoned and told me stock would be in by friday last week....Monday morning by Wii turned up....full pack plus Wii Sports plus remote plus nunchuk......
seems to me PCG are just playing supply and demand and making their money whilst they can.......thats business......
you want latest tech then you pay for it until supply finally outranks demand and they become easy to grab hold of.....
id reccomend anyone to use this company.....swift contact....safe transaction and delivery when they said they would! i dont know many companies that ive spoken too in the last few weeks that have been able to do that!

i think this forum is full of ****y little kids who dont have a clue what the real world is all about! keep moaning and ****ing into the wind....
im off to play my Wii........

The point of people's frustration is that they are selling them at £60 above RRP. No matter how good the service is, they are exploiting the situation.

Actually, you probably work for them..

Heapy
26-01-2007, 12:58 PM
It's just greedy really. To pay £60 over the odds I would like it hand delivered by Brittany Spears!

kirisute
26-01-2007, 12:59 PM
yeah it is...thats business! plain and simple.......
for quality service and delivery on time..i think its worth the xtra cash!
comet dont have any, gamestation dont have any, game you have to wait outside and hope your luck holds, Komplett 31st january, Play sometime this year, ebay give your money away, and pretty much everywhere its a waiting game......
dont knock a company that is simply playing the busniess game...supply and demand.....
they have them...we want them..you either pay and play...or dont and moan like a bitch

ir0n_jaw
26-01-2007, 01:01 PM
Again, you're sounding more and more like you work for them.

Actually Gamestation had some in this morning - at £179.99, just like last week. Oh and I'm 29 - hardly a ****y little kid.

kirisute

and every time ive phone gamestation its been a first come first serve....if your lucky enough to get through to their internet site that is...apparently their servers blew up last week!
the shops are all on pre-order only...i know...ive been trying them daily....
i wish i was working for PCG! they have their heads screwed on.....they see a market and they are going for it..more power to them....
the same happened with the PSP and the same will no doubt happen with the PS3...either pay your cash and get it imported, or wait and play the who can afford it or who cant game......and who is lucky enough to get the few that will be available...
last word on the PS3 was that europe os expecting 1million units....thats gonna be a hell of alot supply and demand!

plus having just checked PCG, they now appear to be out of stock anyway! ROFLMAO!!!!!!
spoend more time putting your cash where your mouth is and you might get to play a Wii this year!!!!

Can I just say that I joined this community for one reason, to get my Wii. And the guys on here are the greatest because within two days this has been sorted. At RRP!!!

But I still read the posts and have to say it is bloody fantastic - now I get to be entertained by guys bitching at each other. This is so funny!!!

For those who post available stock links, please keep doing this. Even the guys that use this site to make a quick buck. Because there are desperate people out there, and at least they are given a choice.

I don't agree with paying over the odds - but I can see that there is a need for this. I almost bought on ebay before joining here.

In todays world its all about having options. And it's good to know that options are available to get your hands on a Wii.

26-01-2007, 01:16 PM
yeah that would be cool.....
simple fact is i dont really care.....i have my Wii ;)
yeah i paid a little more for it......same as i did for my shooting gear from the states...cant get it over here so go somewhere i can...if it costs more...long as its reasonable then to me its worth it....

you want robbery...look at Amazon!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Wii-Console-Sports/dp/B0007UATDG/sr=8-1/qid=1169820942/ref=pd_ka_1/026-9983853-7525239?ie=UTF8&s=videogames

may as well bend over and take your trousers down and say thank you afterwards as well!

Yes there are worse offenders and some people will pay what it takes to get one. I would wager there are more people like me who are not willing to pay extra and there ARE ways to get them at RRP. This forum is a good resource for finding these deals, negating the need to pay extra for the product.

You obviously work for them!

I got a Wii this week from a shop and there were no pre orders and it happened to be Game. They only had one nunchuk which wasn't a pre-order, but most of the shops now that the wii has been released won't let you preorder.

There was no way I was paying over the odds for a wii, for one I don't have the cash to do that, two I don't have a problem waiting... People are right to say £60 over the RRP is a little much, if this company is even getting consignments from Nintendo, I would be wary of them.

Tenacious
26-01-2007, 01:58 PM
Actually just thought of something else, if they are getting Wii's from nintendo it is illegal to sell it over the RRP, a private individual can buy it and put it on ebay for over the RRP but not a company who is recieving stock directly from the manufacturer, so Game***change in London who were selling it for about £300 can get away with it.

I'm pretty much the same. Can't really afford to pay over retail price for wife's birthday present but managed to source one by being patient and the webmon trick.

Don't think abusing people who post links to overpriced units is right though. Don't buy it if you can't afford it. I didn't.

This forum is surely about stock and not only stock at RRP.

Perhaps I just live and let live. Abuse away

On the legal front i don't think that can be right re RRP. www.savastore.com are charging over the odds. Used to be the first place I checked for electrical items but have lost my respect for not driving down prices in their normal manner.

They are charging £293 with stock expected in a week

Heapy

RRP is purely a Recommended retail Price from the manufacturer. So long as your agreement with the manufacturer/supplyer doesn't contradict you can set the price to what you wish.

I don't mean to be abusive, just airing my point of view!

who aint telling the truth? im telling it like it happened to me
ive hunted high and low for Wii...PCG managed to get me one and supplied it when they said they would. thats fact!

and RRP is exactly what is states it is "reccomended" retail price......there is nothing illegal about retailing above or below that price at all.....

the only time such things become illegal is when you end up in a situation like Sony and the online Importers with the PSP. Sony took alot to court over the selling of PSP's before official uk release. Even though japanese and uk psp are exactly the same..Sony hold the right to sell in a trade market....at their own chosen time..hence illegal grey imports.....and a few court battles....

demand will always out-strip supply....and somewhere along the line will always be people who are willing to pay for the supply.......

and because i defend a company that has done good by me i work for them????
i bought a sony dvd cam from bennetts for Xmas...excellant service!! there you go...i work for them too now right?
Oh i bought the the new James Bond Model car magazine as well...damn that a nice DB5 model......oooo does that mean i work for MI5???

your moaning for one of two reasons.....A: because you dont have a Wii and cant get one...or B: because you cant afford to pay for one from a supplier (whomever it might be) that has them.........

ill speak good about PCG to anyone that asks..they did what it said on the tin!!!
i bought from them..they supplied.....end of story........

Hey Kirisute, how do you manage to balance working for Sony and MI5 as well as PC Gobal Direct? Are you moonlighting? Do they all know you're working for the others? And when do you find time to play on your Wii?

Seriously though, it's all very well moaning about the hefty prices charged by such companies and Amazon Marketplace / eBay sellers, but these people are only half the problem. The other half is the buyers. If eveybody stopped buying consoles for £300 or whatever, the sellers would stop selling them. What's more, it would mean people wouldn't buy consoles for resale in the first place, so there would be more stock available for genuine buyers, and the stock shortages which are causing so much grief what be alleviated! (I must say I was getting really hacked off with the situation where, around half an hour after the latest batch of online stock from Game / Woolworths / Wherever ran out, the number of consoles available on Amazon marketplace would jump up by 5...)

Still, not bitter any more. Just acquired my Wii (at RRP or just a shade under what with the slight reduction in the game price) this evening.

Yeah, and if everyone stopped buying them at £179 rrp and refused to buy them until they were available at 10p then we would all be happy (well all except Nintendo execs :D )
