I've been looking for a Wii since Saturday morning, and every morning and early evening I phone up my local stores to see if they have it in stock, and all of them so no

When i ask them when their going to get more stock in, all of them reply with the same answer; THEY DONT KNOW!!!

I thought having stock shortages was a good business strategy at first, but now its just **** taking

your chance of getting a wii online or by phone is pretty sllim, you should try going around the shops.

If you ask them they usually have some knocking about if you catch them at the right time.

It's say it's pretty high for online - just watching these forums there's probably been opportunity to nab at least 8 from different places over the last week. My experience of local shops has been dire and also involved an awful lot of uneccesary legwork.

Mate, I haven't been on this forum long at all, and I've bagged two Wiis online already, plus I had the opportunity to buy more.

Nope I dont buy stuff online, and there's no way im gonna buy something this expensive online

And the reason I phone is because it saves me time 4rm going to the actual stores and finding out they dont have it in stock

Well you can't blame Nintendo as they are available online :-). It's your choice not to buy online

I appreciate why people don't like buying online, but it is the best way to get a Wii imo. I found out about this site last Tuesday, spent the Wednesday morning having a good read and by Thursday morning, I was setting up my Wii thanks to this forum and gameplay.co.uk.

You have to have some faith in the online security measures, plus if you use your credit card (and even debit cards, I think), you should be able to claim your money back if fraud does occur. Just always opt not to store your card details if you ever get prompted, and to be honest just as much fraud takes place in real life shopping too.

On a side note, when you think that these console get made in Japan, shipped to Germany for assembly, then sent to a warehouse in the UK and then another warehouse before then getting sent to the retailers, it is a long process and Nintendo are no doubt doing their best to keep stock coming. Demand has been incredibly high too, so you have to expect shortages sadly.

9 am in the morning visit ALL the wii stockist in the local high street. Ask the guy/girl behind the counter as they almost never put it on the shelves.

I know u can ring up but some shop assistants don't always tell the truth and like to save some for their friends to sell.

Thanks to this forum my brother and myself managed to get a wii from Virgin in Leeds - after being a nano second away from getting one in Woolworths, during the course of the conversation the wii went off sale.

I came home - straight on to this forum and found virgin in Leeds had some consoles - 18 (fingers crossed) by the time my brother arrived down to 13, and my friend got me the last one (thankfully).

I had an order placed with powerplay direct just incase as a fallback and also Littlewoods catalogue which unfortunatley had April as a delivery date. Now both cancelled.

I agree with the person who said to get down the shops and leave the phone/online. i foned argos on saturday and it said they were out of stock, i went down to the shop and they were out of stock but where having a delivery in a few days and i reserved 1 of them and got it monday
