Well my PSP can see my friends wireless router so, yes. If your wireless router has a password you will, of course need to enter this into the Wii's connection settings.

1st, make a note of all the settings in your router - SSID, what kind of security you use, passwords, and your MTU.

Make sure that you broadcast your SSID as well (I didn't, but have to now). Also, if you use any proprietary connections (eg NetGear use one to get 108Mbps) you have to drop back to a b &/or g connection (another bummer for me). Check to see if your router only allows known MAC addresses - if so, dig out the one on the Wii and put it in.

Enter the data in carefully & you should be OK.

All of my probs came from the gotchas above. No show stoppers, just minor annoyances.

Could someone tell me how to go about finding router passwords etc?

I'm with tiscalli and assured their modem supports all wifi devices. Short of detailed instructions in the Wii manual though I'm at a loss how to do it.
