thelocal you got ur super mario bros already? I collected all that lot on the GBA sp a couple of years back(before stupidly giving it all to my neice). Dont think i've seen that game on a tv screen since the late 80's. Just got my sd card reader/writer off ebay(£3.24), so will prob spend the w/end filling that with movie and mp3 files. at least if i have any problems I know where to come!

thelocal you got ur super mario bros already?
I have a slight problem with this game.....I ain't got a controller for it yet. It can oly be played with the Classic Controller and GC controller. I have neither of these yet :( I had a Classic Controller on back order for 2 weeks with HMV and still waiting. Until I get my controller it's not worth tormenting myself staring at a game in the Menu that I can't play :roll:
May pop into Toy'R'Us again and see if they got stock yet..........

Are you talking about the Super Mario Bros first Mario game on the Virtual Console? If so i have it and i dont use a Classic controller or Gamecube controller. All you need to do is use the Wiimote, simply turn the Wiimote so that your holding it sideways and then just play it works fine.

Its like pushing down the Right button to go but its really the Down button, do you understand?

Anyone downloaded Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on VC? I can save some points there as i have the Zelda collectors edition for Gamecube which im into at the moment lol.

Zelda I is so hard honestly i cant remember nothing from child-hood gaming lol its crazy i dont really have a clue where to go and theres basically no storyline. I suppose at them times 1980's storyline wasnt really a main thing for a game.

New adventure island i think is this game where you are a small child running through levels dodging monsters, like a 2D mario platformer but the screen is constantly moving. You get weapons and skateboards etc. It's not bad but is a bit boring after a while.

don't think i will get any of the new titles but last night did download my first off the VC and it was Mario 64 brilliant game :D so am just deciding what to use my remaining 2000 points on. Think i will probably get street fighter II

Mario 64 is a superb game but i'm seriously bored of it now to be honest because i had it for N64 and then DS it was just like ok few new features on DS. For VC though i can't imagine much difference between the N64 version. I'm not gonna get it, i'll get goldeneye, mario kart and other such classics though.

I never had Mario 64 for the N64 but did play it for about 20mins round a friends and loved it but never got round to buying it so am happy i could download it :D

I don't know who made it but I am an absolute sucker for the megadrive game Little Nemo; Dream Master.

I hope it was SEGA and it shows up sooner or later for VC.

I said this ages ago on the forum, but i think that Nintendo should have a open ear to the gamers of the Wii and make it available some how or anouther to let us choose which Vc titles we want to see, Maybe use the "Everybody votes channel"? Cast a vote including about 6 games a week starting monday and which ever Vc title gets the most votes gets put onto Vc!! What dya rekurn?

I dont think there would be much point, Nintendo know which of their games sold the best so are probably selling those, Goldeneye wont be coming to the VC anytime soon because of copyright issues etc.

Nintendo have released an update for Mario Kart 64 on VC.
VC message: "The new version fixes a minor error that occurred when the player selection screen was left running for too long."
People who have already purchased this game on VC can download the updated versions for free by locating them in the usual place within the Virtual Console section of the Wii Shop.

Good point but at the moment i dont really mind and wont mind for a while as of all the games coming out in march. Also on the Zelda collectors edition for Gamecube contains a 20 minuet demo for Wind Waker, a video explaining the background of The Legend Of Zelda overall and a small video of Wind Waker.

Galaga is way to dated and would only interest the real retro fanatic 1/10
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a better game and a old classic but its very tough an that will put most people off 5/10
Double Dungeons is another very dated looking game that is very boring 2/10

My mate dug out his N64 at the w/end because he's knows I have a soft spot for a bit of 007. Damn, do you know I wish he hadn't. It would have been one of the last games I would have thought would have dated so badly.
To start with I watched as he played the train and cradle levels with the giant head cheat enabled. This really didn't help, and the guards looked
like they had giant 50p coins for heads.
That game was great for so many reasons, and every shooter today owes something to it as the first great console fps. I think a bit like our Wii now
the new and exciting controller was a large chunk of the appeal. It was great to play a shooter with your finger literally on the trigger. That was the first time I had played a game with my thumb on top of a tiny joystick that was built into a joy-pad. Crazy. don't get me wrong, I will always love this game but the genre has now been so built upon and polished, this
game looks a little sad and left behind.

Arhh..yes! Finally it comes to Virtual Console! Wonderboy In MosterLand. This game abserlutly brilliant. I remember it well for the Megadrive, Possiblly my favoruite ever Megadrive game. If you haven't played it then i suggest you get some points and download it.

Its an Adventure game. Some aspects of it remind me of Zelda games aswel. This is a defint must download.

Oh yeah, by far.
You don't get the "panic" button like in the first whereby you call for "backup" - an armed cop car thing pulls up, launches a load of rockets and wipes out all the bad guys surrounding you...
But instead you get a lod of "special moves" unique to each character - wicked when finishing off a boss and it goes into slow motion as they die!
There's also a choice of 4 characters here (Axel, the girl, Max and the skater boy)

There's a SOR III, but I prefer II.

Give it a go! You wont be disappointed (assuming they've ported it to VC 1:1)

Cheers mate, sounds like its worth the few quid to download and I never owned a Megadrive so it would be good to get a few classics from the console onto my Wii.

I think Sonic 2 is different from the Game Gear version. Great fun.

Streets of Rage 2 is worth buying for the soundtrack alone. I used to sit there with my headphones plugged into my Mega Drive running through the sound test in the options menu. God I was sad lol.

ok ill explain.

the super mario bros 2 we got over here wasnt actually the real super mario bros 2. The real one only came out in japan, it was very similar to the first one except with slightly updated graphics and music, however it was rediculously hard with fake bosses and warp zones that took you backwards, deciding it was too hard for the west, nintendo took a japanese nes game called doki doki panic, and swapped the 4 hereos for mario,luigi,toad and peach. Thats why non of the original mario enemies are in it, and thats why the game feels quite arabian. The original super mario bros 2 was released here under the name super mario bros, the lost levels in the super mario all stars game on the snes.

According to Wikipedia there's already a few games which were never released over here that are now on the VC. Unfortunately they're probably not games anyone will have been wishing for (Double Dungeons, Dragons Curse, and Battle Lode Runner). But I was quite happy to see Dragon's Curse as it was the first video game I ever played.

I can confirm Neutopia as a classic adventure game that followed in the path of Zelda games. Have never seen or heard of the two NES games.

If they release 5 games every week they would probably run out of classics by the end of the year.

Bubble Bobble is a GREAT game and if you have 500 points I'd recommend this to anyone ;)
