Hey, first post, this forum looks pretty useful so thought I'd join.
Just wondered if anyone knew what the stock situation was like up here in snowy Glasgow? I'm thinking specifically Game stores, but any other shops I'd be interested to hear of anyone who knew of free Wii's around! Thanks in advance!

I had absolutely no luck foot slogging around town in my lunch hour back when I was looking on Monday. I think you may be better off focussing online. I know I was.

You are absolutely right: I have ordered my wii online from GAME, hopefully get it in 2 days. Gave up trying the shops, more or less because the shop assistants were so rude about it. I know it's probably a question that they get asked every day, and it's not their fault they don't have enough to go round yet, but if you don't have a sign up saying that you don't have any, then you've got to expect to get asked.
Anyway online seems to have been much less hassle. I can't help but think that the stock doesn't really filter out to the ground up north anything like as well as it does down south. I know there's less people, and so less consoles, but I don't think it's in proportion. But that's just how I felt after frustrating trips into as many shops as I could find!

I'm surprised they're as thin on the ground here as they are. I mean, Port Glasgow, Gourock and Greenock are still functioning ports, and container ships do dock there. Amazon didn't set up a fulfilment centre in Gourock for their health. Still, glad you got one from Game too :).
BTW, I tried and failed to get an extra Wiimote in town today, but there were plenty of Nunchuks to be had, and I got my RGB cable without any problems.

Mate if u dont have one yet then the best bet is to try Game on a Tuesday. They have had them in teh past 2 Tuesdays. The one in St Enochs gets them in around 11.00, they only really tell you though if u r at store. I was foning and kept gettting told none, then jumpd in on my lunch break to be told they had sold out.
The best bet I would say though is teh one in Debenhams. They get them in on a Tues as well I think. They got 9 on Tuesday there. And they somtimes, if you call enuf times in the morning, keep ur name and call you when they come in.
Also been told that Argos ahv eloads of stock but holding it for the new catalogue launch. Think its out on Saturday.
Happy hunting!!

I finally managed to get a Wii today from Gamestation in Paisley. Both Paisley and East Kilbride have them in stock for general sale. Both stores were very helpful and were both happy to put one by for me until i could get there.
Gamestation in both Sauchiehall Street and Union Street were of no use whatsoever. Union Street branch in particular seems to employ all the relatives of Cletus the slack jawed yokel from the Simpsons. The staff in Union street are absolutely hopeless, and not just when it comes to asking if they have the Wii in stock. Any questions at all are usually met with rude, one word answers. It's as if Gamestation went out of their way to hire people who have worst social skills in Britain. Living in Glasgow, that really is saying something.
In the unlikely event that anyone from Gamestation head office is reading this, well done to the stores in Paisley and East Kilbride. Perhaps you should consider sending the staff from the Glasgow branches to either of these stores to learn how to deal with the public.
