Disc Slot not lighting up?

Any reason for which my disc slot is not being lit? My console is conected to the internet as it updated successfully and it is set up to light up in the settings. I just get a quick flash when I turn on the console but then it turns off immediately and never see it again until I power up again and that lasts 1 second.

Is this normal?

Yeah thats normal the only way to keep the light on is by receiving an e-mail, you could send your console an e-mail from your hotmail account or something to get the glow or wait till nintendo or someone e-mails you.

Here's a question, how do you find out your consoles email address? I've heard this email thing before but can't find the address anywhere.

The easiest way is to send yourself an email from the Wii.

Go to the address book as if you were going to add a new friend but select the computer icon rather than the Wii icon. Type in an email address you have access to and the Wii will send it an email. The email will have yours wii's email address in it.
