Syncing the wii remotes

Hi,
Has anyone had trouble syncing their wii remotes? I tries to sync my second remote but failed, but when tried to use remote 1 this now will not work either!!!!!!!!!

I had a problem syncing as it wasn't clear if you held down the buttons or not. Press both buttons (the one on the console and the one next to the batteries) at the same time. don't hold them down. Hope this works.
