SD Cards are used for data storage in many digital cameras, mobiles and now Nintendo Wii's. Basically SD cards can be used to hold a wide range of wii tools & components such as

- Images
- Music (.Mp3 format)
- Video files (.AVI format)
- And backing up data such as VC games.

The wii console is only compatable with SD cards 2gb or less & to use a SD card you first must download a update to use the full features of a SD card otherwise only parts of it will work.

You may have a smaller SD card than the normal size, in this case you can still use your smaller SD card in your wii console but Only if you have the SD adapter.

The smaller SD cards usually come with mobile phones.

Any questions on SD cards please ask.

ye the video formats for the wii, is it just .AVI or is that just an example you used?
and the backing up data of VC games, is that just save files or the actual game data (equivalent of the cartridge)?

Well i got from a nintendo website that .avi will be only supported but i think saved data can only be saved otherwise people could just download on a wii a VC game and then jus share with friends without them paying which im sure nintendo dont want. Butt i'll double check.

Can someone explain why the offical SD card retails at around £50-60 quid, but you can get a normal SanDisk SD card for about £20???

Then we are being taken for complete monkeys. Complete rip off to charge so much just because it has the Wii logo on it.

But then, whats new?

What can you do once you've put your mp3s on an SD Card? Can you just listen to your music on it's own or can you listen to it while playing?

I asked this question in the media section but nobody replied. What devices do you guys use to transfer your images/videos/mp3s from your computer onto your SD card(links to where it can be bought would be helpful)?

you can listen to your mp3's while watching a slideshow of your pictures, you need a card reader for your PC, search for "usb SD card reader"
