we brought our son the monster truck game for the wii in game last saturday, he did not find it very easy to get on with and asked if we could get another game instead, we took it back to our local branch - putney sw london, only to find they dont do the 10 day returns anymore my fault of course thought they still run the service, was offered a trade in but at a drop of £15 for a few hrs use. i always liked the 10 days return policy but now game are no different to anywhere else, so i expect they probably lose buisness no special reasons to go there now cos prices same as everywhere else, also their stock availability information doe not seem terribly useful. ??

Are they breaking the law there? Seems a bit dodgy...
Check http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ for buyers rights.

I think the least they should do is give you a credit note... i know that Gamestation do.

I must admit, I thought that it was standard policy on all software that once opened it can only be only be returned if found to be faulty? Think the same rule applies on cd's and dvd's. Might be wrong tho :)

Games 10 day policy set them apart from everyone else, but they had to stop doing it due to abuse of the system (piracy etc...).

The rules regarding purchased software are, i'm sure, that once opened it cant be returned - although saying that, if you visit another Game you may find that shops react differently.

BigDawg is correct...go to another Game store. If they wont exchange , create a fuss when they have customers and are busy. Guarentee to work.

XD
They will be crapping themselves and you will get what you want.
And lets be honest, they lose money from it as exchanging games makes the game pre-owned thus meaning they must sell it for preowned price or they will be breaking the law
