which color should the power switch be?

is it light yellow or red? ive left it on the yellow one for a day or so but i get the feelin that it's a standby mode, as the Wii is soooo hot

i held the button down on the Wii & it went red :? ive been turning it off using the Wii remote is this wrong?

Yeah - orangey/yellow is a standyby mode. Nintendo reckons it doesn't cosume much power when on standby but it allows the Wii to stay connected to the internet (if you've got it connected to the internet). They reckon this will be useful for downloading system updates and other stuff automatically whilst you're not using the console.

If you want it switched off properly then you have to get the red light (or just unplug it!)

that's what i thought, but after leaving it on it's standby mode it got really, really hot

it shouldnt really get hot even on standby...have you got enough empty space around the wii so that the fan can blow the air about properly?

dude i own 360 as well :lol: so i know how much space they both need :lol:

not taken that much interest in the 360 but i have a ps2 by my wii and it doesn't get hot at all
