Anyone got Red Steel? if so what do you think about it so far?
Ive had it for a while but have been so engaged on zelda, but I finally put it in the wii last night.

Last night i really wasnt to pleased with it but i put it in the wii again today and noticed how good the game actually is, anyway im upto the bit where you have to fight a man wtih both the good sword and the broken one and its really fun.

Im sure later on when the game is more popular on the forum it will appear under "Wii games" section on wiifind.

Anyway dicuss anything here to do with Red Steel.

SuperJario, i'm abit further than you, just leant loads (about 5 moves at once), done the mission from that tall woman that sits by the indoor fountain, now doing the one from the key that is sitting on the bar, his mission is strange especialy with the bunnies.
ubi soft could have done more to this, i mean multi-player isn't that fun, my friend always give up because, i kill them like 10 times in a row and it's just not interesting for them after that, (unlike timesplitter future purfect). they could have had LOADS more lvls in which to fight, the ones there aren't that good. the good bit about multiplayer is the mission ones when you have 3 or 4 players, which i don't have most of the time.
single player ok story line, sometimes storyline confusing with the names of the japanese people and swords and gangs. learning to controle is hard at first, but you soon get used to it, and learn its good to not run out close up and get shot to bits (although trying is sometimes quite fun!).
its not a big problem, but i do miss being able to turn quickly around corners and just shoot people in the face using a mouse and keyboard, as you need to turn by pointing the remote near the corner of the screen in which you want to turn.
i think its good, about 8/10

I'm a bit further than you, I've just gone to the massage parlour (brothel lol) and I'm really getting into it. I get the feeling that if the game was released on another system with a normal control system it wouldn't score that highly but because it's on the Wii, it is a very good game.

It has some nice lighting effects and the world Ubi have created feels realistic. 8/10 is a fair score. A good game, fancy a go now after talking about it lol.

Lol i like the sound of the brothel bit haha just joking?
Im into the carpark now & yes 8/10 from what ive played so far is a good rating.

This game also really reminds me of Goldeneye!

Things like the armour and stuff.

I really enjoy the sword fights too.....there's plenty of them but they're not so frequent that it gets boring or repetetive. It's also good how you can choose how to fight - you can either hack away at their health until they give up or parry their blows until their sword breaks.

Here's something I've found on Red Steel.

If you go to the options and set the aiming sensitivity to low you need a much bigger arm movement to move your gun from one side of the screen to the other. This really adds to the realism as you would use large arm movements to aim at lots of people coming at you at once.

With the way it's set by default, you can aim by just slight movements of the hand and wrist which you wouldn't normally do with a real gun.

Give it a go, I think it really makes a difference and draws you into the game more.

Just picked up the sniper rifle and taken some guys out, I can see Miyu and she's now escaped and I have to meet her. Sounds like we're at the same point.

Hi all.

Ive just climbed out the back of a truck and in some kind of factory. Im getting a little tired of chasing this fiancé of mine, wish I could just shoot her myself and move on.

lovin the game so far, it reminds me of point blank crossed with Goldeneye! tried multiplayer last night but my friends cant get used to the controls, think they should have a go on single first to get the feel of the controls.

I'm at the bit where I need to destroy the security console to get into the brothel owners room, any ideas? I'm lost!

Not got anything to add to the discussion about the actualy game, but I thought I would share this. Since E3 I always said I was going to get a wii and red steel would be the first ever game I played on it, and I am going to stick by this 8)

make sure when you first play it not to get put off by the control system, you wont have played on anything symular and will find it difficult as first.

SuperJario

Yes you will definatly find it hard to start with and might even put you off for the first 10 - 15 mins but after youve got the hang of it you'll love it.

A few of my friends came over and found it really hard but then got used to it, and they said theyd love to play it multiplayer. Has anyone played red steel multiplayer yet? if so whats it like?

Ok people, I seem to have a problem...

Red Steel is a good game and I'm really getting into it. Just did the bit where I have to find someone's back garden, then shot all the blokes in there. the next bit seems to be climbing in through a window either side of a door locked with a piece of wood. Now I can open both windows, then I have a sword in my hands and I can see and here someone inside the house swinging his sword/stick around.
I just can't get in through the window - if I crouch, jump, walk, shoot... whatever I JUST CAN'T GET IN!
Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing this problem?!?!?
Please HELP ME!!! :x

I have got stuck here!

I get most way through this scene: made it down the slope, into the building, through the hot bit, through the dark bit and am back at the bottom of the ski slope trying to make it back up.

I guess i have to get into a chair lift, but i cant find where to get upto the cablecar! when i try to creep up the slope on foot the game crashes for me.

Anyone else get the crashing?
Anyone else tell me how to get to the cable car?
Anyone else found the 'fun' thing that is to be found in this area?

cheers

This bit was quite hard. The only way I managed to do it was kill everyone in the room, there's a couple of guys at the bottom of the slope and more guys right at the top of the slope. Otherwise you'll get shot to pieces before you get half way up the slope. They're quite hard to see but take them out with the sniper rifle that one of the guys in black drop when you kill them. Then just leg it up the right hand side of the slope. Then get on the chair lift at the top. Then you get to kill a couple of power rangers, yay!!! and get in this fairground ride. That's where I get stuck.

When playing this game the disc in the wii is noisy as hell, is everyone else's like this. Seems to be louder when there more action in the game.
