Every morning I try the phone calls, and for example just got off the phone with Gamestation and they told me due to pre-orders they don't sell over the counter, yet when i was in there yesterday they told me to keep calling every morning :(

It's just so uncool, so heres a plea for aid in the Stoke area ... i want Wii.

I think it depends entirely who you talk to, especially at Currys. I phoned Currys one day and they said not at the moment but the local store should get a few in every few days so keep ringing, then the next day I rang again and they said no Currys store is getting any till February. The next day I go into Currys (for something else) and asked, they said they had a few in yesterday :evil:

Got mine at Game yesterday though so I'm happy :D

I know what you mean, when the people on the phone seem reluctant to tell you anything. It's not hard to say "yes" or "no"!

Oh tell me about it, I'm doing my solicitors training atm, and have had exams all week .. fitting in the hour of phone calls everyday has killed me .. but the exmas are over and i have free time now. I WANT A WII!

I keep getting a nagging feeling it's my accent because I'm clearly not local, I'm always professional, polite and friendly ... I'm trained to be, but the geordie accent I think brings in the "F******G STUDENTS!" respone quite a bit.

i've just spent the last hour ringing every known store in my town centre. Curry's were by far the nicest - put me on hold while he went to check HIMSELF to see if any stock have come in. He also said that they are getting deliveries quite frequently these past few days so its best to keep ringing everymorning for delivery status.

You guys are lucky people are willing to help you. My local WH Smiths aren't stocking Wii's at all ever, Woolworths said they hadn't had any in since launch day and didn't think they would be getting any until March, and Game told me they had 3 come into stock yesterday morning but won't reserve me one until lunch time (I'm at work all day) because they know they can sell them within half an hour of opening the store. Getting really frustrated! :(

i think when i get one my hard work will pay off - im not desperate, i dont need one. but im a kid (practically :lol:) i just want one. i'd like to do it without the help of friends who work in the stores (i actually noticed the other day my friend worked in a local GAME store, but, like everyone else, was just rude about it - friend? the least she could do was be nice.)

Currys were by far the nicest to talk to - told me to ring up same time everyday because they are expecting deliveries. im popping into town later just to double the chance of getting a decent answer out of all the stores.
but alas - no luck in nottingham :cry:

ah cool. i go to trent which is basically in the city centre. notts uni is a little out of town. lots to do in nottingham tho, great city with excellent night life despite what you might have heard about crime etc

nottingham was brilliant, facility wise geography had been completely revamped with the latest technology and theres nice acocmodation too.

i will have to be carefull but im sure crimes not too bad.

If you've paid £300 for a Wii at CEX, a) you've already been mugged and b) if you can afford £300 for one, you can probably afford a second :)

Y'see i thought i was just being paranoid :shock: but damn am i going to ring my dad up to take me home as soon as i purchase one in store (assuming i do purchase in store - and actually get one!)
