Hi all
We know how hard it is to be the lucky few who get stock as it comes online so we have set up automatic SMS stock alerts straight to your mobile.
http://wiifind.co.uk/wii_stock_alerts.html
Currently we spider the following sites for stock every 30 SECONDS:
* Amazon
* Play.com
* Argos
* Currys
* Dixons
* PC World
* John Lewis
* Woolworths
* Power Play Direct
* Gamestation
* Game Seek
* HMV
Its £9.99 for unlimited texts until March or if you cancel.
Let me know what you think of the service.
Enjoy
Matt

True, the extra 13 quid could go towards buying one on ebay. Good idea though.

You pay through PayPal (really easy) and cancel by emailing support.
But you would only need to cancel once you have secured your Nintendo Wii (save you getting unnecessary messages).

Its a one off payment by paypal. You dont need to cancel if you dont want to. Use it for your friends or something. But yes I guess you dont need it after you have secured a Wii.

You may have signed up twice just, but only paid for one.
Message myself, or the WiiFind team with your telephone number and I/we can check the status of your number for you :)

I signed up for this a few days ago, since getting the first confirmation text saying I would get updates when my payment cleared, I haven't received any texts. I've since found my Wii (thru this forum) so although i'm happy i've got one finally (thank you!) , I feel a little bit cheated by the SMS update system. It never updated me once and I only found out about stock by thoroughly checking the forums regularly (which I could have done for free)

I too signed up for the service.
Recieved a confirmation text, that was it.
save yourself £10 and just check the forum every now and again.

Hi Folks,
I've gone through the SMS records and there have been 1287 SMS alerts sent to our user base in the last 7 days. The last message was literally just sent (12:15:59 Wii Find (Retailers) Woolworths) so I cannot find any problems with it at the moment.
If you find that you aren't receiving SMS messages, U2U myself, or one of the Wii Find staff with your mobile telephone number for us to check the status of your number. Ie, there may have been a space in your telephone number which prevented it being activated, or an SMS message was returned by your provider, and further alerts had been paused.

I'm having the exact reverse problem to others - I've now got a Wii but I can't stop the damn SMS alerts from coming through. I've sent 3 emails to admin@wiifindco.uk and not had a single reply. If anyone is listening could you please cancel them? I'll assume you've got my email address now that I've had to register to post messages to the forum so please contact me if you need more details.
Thanks
Neil

I signed up on Thursday last week, received a confirmation SMS but nothing since. Therefore, I think it's only fair that the £9.99 I paid is refunded straight away as the system obviously isn't working as it should.
Good idea in theory, but in practice it leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

i've had lots of blank periods and lots of false txts?
Looking through the records the only false reports I can see was 3 messages for Currys, Dixons & PCWorld (same company) when they did maintenance the other night, but we save copies of all the pages spidered and the rest of them have purchase buttons. If you have an exact date/time and the retailers name, PM it to me and I'll check it out for you :)
Don't forget alot of retailers sell out in <8 Minutes,
For example, Play.com makes Wii's available normally every couple of days, the last time it was in stock it sold out in exactly 2 Minutes. In the last 2 days, 33 hours, and 29 minutes, the Wii has only been "In Stock" for 0.9482% of the time. In the last 9 days, 16 hours, 26 minutes, it has been in stock for a total of 58 minutes (0.4177%).

Your telephone number had a space in it causing the SMS messages to fail at the gateway.
I have corrected the space in the database which will allow the SMS Messages to go through. Which browser did you use when you signed up?

What about a few extra features?
Like a weekly newsletter (on a friday) to show statistics of retailers stock levels, and logs of when they came into stock, as well as email alerts? WiiFind are always open for suggestions on what you would like to see, so if anyone has any ideas of new features, let us know and they can be implemented immediately!

Firstly, I never, ever put spaces in phone numbers on webforms. I have filled out enough of them in the past and know this can cause problems with automated systems.
Anyway, if I had done this, how is it that I received the following text from you minutes after signing up confirmation: "WiiFind - Welcome! Once your payment is received + verified, your account will be activated."
That sort of blows a big gaping hole the excuse that I had entered a space in my mobile number, doesn't it!
For your information, I used IE7 when signing up for the service, and before you blame my choice of browser for the missing texts, I once again point out that I received the confirmation SMS within minutes of completing sign up.
I have still not had any other SMS at all from you and my request stills stands that I would like a full and immediate refund of the £9.99 paid.

If you have already secured your Wii, and want to stop SMS alerts, simply email admin@wiifind.co.uk or send a PM to myself with your mobile number. I have also tracked down the cause of the Woolworths 5:17am issue, and made changes to the detection method.
Thanks :D

Im a bit confused because I joined the £10 sms service, and the payment all went through but I didn't get a confirmation SMS that other people said they got. Any chance of checking whether my payment was OK and that the number is on the list?
Im so desperate for a Wii I want to be on the SMS list from Monday morning in case new stock is due this week somewhere!
