Just ordered this title and wondered if anyone else had bought it and could offer any pointers?
Not bought it yet, but hopefully soon. I'll have to finish some of my part done games then I can trade though, so it might be a week or two.

I know that feeling hilly, thankfully payday has arrived & this'll be my entertainment for the forseeable as it looks like quite a 'big' game with unique online challenges to keep you coming back for more :) looking forward to getting started, I've not played many RPG's before so looking forward to seeing the story unfold.
I'm not the most experienced gamer but I'll try & post my initial thoughts over the weekend.
I went into HMV yesterday and they have two versions of M Hunter. The first is just an ordinary version for £37.99 and the second has an original controller included in the pack and is £47.99, which isn't too bad, but it appears to have a wire and to be honest I'm not sure I fancy being tethered to a console with a wire again after having the freedom of wireless. I am wondering though if the game is easier to play with the original controller rather than the wiimote which I presume will have to be used on its side.
Couldn't find it at all in Game.

The classic controller plugs into the Wii-mote and not the console so you can put the wiimote in your pocket and using the classic doesn't detract too much from being attached in this way, if your going to be playing the game over a long period of time I read the classic is the controller of choice, the other option is wii-mote & nunchuck.
I've ordered the game from Amazon for £29.75 & free delivery, ordered on Tuesday & should arrive tomorrow hopefully :-)

Damn you Amazon & your free delivery...guess what?? my game didn't arrive & won't now until Tuesday due to
bank holiday....
Note to self: go for 1st class next time dumb @$$ :-/
Bet you're annoyed, I know I would be. A long weekend for gaming and the game you wanted hasn't arrived, what a waste.

Yep! That annoyed that I went to Asda yesterday and bought a copy for £31 lol :D I'll return one of them when the Amazon copy arrives...
I've had around 5hrs gameplay so far & that includes about an hour online trying one of the quests where you have 50mins to find 14 unique mushrooms which by myself wasn't easy hence I failed on my first attempt :( lol. There's lots to learn & explore both online & offline.
So if you have any questions fire away & I'll try & answer them.

Hmmm... This game looks pretty good... I might get it :D
Oh and by the way... does this game use wii speak?

Hi kk, yep this games alright as RPG's go (not that I'm an expert) it seems to have all the elements you'd expect and yes it is compatible with Wii Speak which makes doing quests online with friends great as there's so much to chat about regarding the game in respect of the offline game/combining elements etc. The graphics are good and there's lots of hunter gathering to do to keep you busy inbetween & during quests to upgrade your armour & weapons. If you like RPG then this game is a must I'd say.

Sure no problem! Providing our times can match up, I'm free only a couple of nights a week when I look after my children & then I'm free from 8:30pm+... so let me know when you get the game & we'll sort something out :) I've played 15hrs worth now & I reckon I've only just scratched the surface of the game :D

Yeah, but is it a good or a great game so far. I like the idea of it being on wii speak but think it would be better if it was a headset mic rather than open to anybody in the room. Have just been looking at it in Tesco but Amazons still the cheapest at under £35. for the game without the classic controller. Going to have to get saving or talking very nice to Phil then I can get it.

I'd say it's a great game if you like RPG's. Not everyone likes the monotonous gathering of elements which come's with these games but like anything you only get out what you put in and there are so many to collect and then combine. Like most Wii Speak games you can wear headphones but yes the mic with Wii Speak will pick up room noise but at least having your headphones on means not everyone has to hear what's going on.

Oops, didn't realise you could use wii speak with headphones.
Are you playing MH with the wiimote and nunchuk or are you using the classic controller? I'm actually wondering if I need to get a classic controller anyway as there are certain to be more games to be released in the future which need it.

I'm playing with the original classic controller that I bought a few years ago so I could play Mario Kart 64 from Virtual Console, I've not tried wiimote & nunchuck but I imagine it could get tiring, I played online til 3am this morning (oops :D)....the hours just fly-by un-noticed. Given they're selling copies with the classic controller it would seem to be the best option.

Got this game today!
How are you liking it so far. I'm really jealous, but I just haven't saved up enough money yet. April and May is my birthday season and I never have any money for myself during the 2 months. Will get it next month though (I hope).

Its a good game so far Suze :)
It takes a while to build up and upgrade your character and learn the ropes, but every things ok when you know what you're doing. 8)
Got it. Phil bought it for me yesterday, but I haven't started it yet. I hope I can do this as I have never played anything like this before, so I'll probably be asking for all kinds of help.
Right, I'm off to start it now.
Help Please!!
Some blessed cats nicked all the stuff which I was carrying. I couldn't do much about it at the time as I was using that great big sword - which I don't like much really - and couldn't kill 'em as they were too fast, but if it happens again when I have a smaller weapon will I be able to get any of my stuff back if I can manage to kill 'em.
The little book in the game case said if you were mining you could use your torch, but when I equip my pick axe the torch goes straight back into my pockets and I have to mine in the dark. Where am I going wrong please.
I am actually thinking of dumping the game saves and re-starting the game before I go any further as I am sure I have made some serious mistakes which will come back to haunt me later. All hints and tips gratefully accepted.

dont worry too much about the cats, if you kill em you'll get your stuff back.
Im not sure about mining with a torch. I have the same problem, I dont have a clue how to mine with my torch.

If I manage to work it out I'll let you know. Have you worked out how to do your monster list yet 'cos I haven't managed it and am wondering if it is something you only do when you start on the proper quests to kill 'em.
If it's any help IGN have a game guide out. I'm finding it really helpful just to start the game properly as this is the first time I've played this sort.

If you want to add monsters to the list, all you gotta do is open your menu (where your item pouch and other stuff is) then push the button that says "Hunter notes" and then if you hold A + B on the wii remote and point at a monster you want to add to the list you drag the hand to the book in the bottom right.
Its sounds kinda confusing but its pretty simple :)

Thanks KK. I'm using the classic controller at the moment but I'll give it a go.
I tried using the wii mote and nunchuk yesterday and found I preferred it but the camera was very awkward as you have to use the D Pad instead of an analog stick.
To mine with the wii mote while carrying a torch just swing your nunchuk at the wall as though you are using a pick axe and you keep your light. With the classic controller you should press the A button while holding the R button but I haven't tried this one yet.
I might go to the wiimote and nunchuk permanently as I think my classic controller might be faulty, 'cos it keeps freezing when using the menu and it's starting to drive me mad. I did start again the other day as I just wasn't happy with the choices I had made in the game but am ready to start my first quest today.
