This is a toughie for me, but my most played and fave top 3 downloads so far just have to be:
1) Wave Race 64 (N64)
2) Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
3) Harvest Moon (NES or SNES)
After Eric's vid persuaded me to buy Wave Race, I've hardly been off the game. The Time Trials are so damn addictive I lose hours playing it.
Let me know what yours are :)

I only have two VC games downloaded so by default it has to be:
1) Columns
2) Sonic the Hedgehog
but if I were to download another I'd have to make it Gunstar Heroes which is one of the most underrated games on the Mega Drive, it's brilliant!

Two great games though, and two I couldn't resist downloading myself ;)
Columns is really good fun, especially for a pick up and pla yfor twenty minutes. It's really the only one of it's kind I'd consider buying.
Is Gunstar heroes a shoot-em up? I'm sure I've seen good reviews/comments of it on Nintendo Life.
And yay! Someone replied to the thread! Lol! ;)

Lol, I hate to see a thread die on it's a**e ;)
Yep, Gunstar Heroes is a side scrolling, on foot shoot 'em up. Think Super Probotector (or Contra Spirits as it's also known) and you'll get the idea. It's a lot more colourful and less serious though. It's a fantastic fast paced and action packed game that gets even better in two player.

Lol! You're so sweet! :p
Just had a look now, it is the one I was thinking of. Looks impressive. Costs 800 Wii points, which isn't too bad. They rated it 9/10. I'd love to know how many people are downloading particular titles. Bet it makes for interesting reading.

I feel your Super Mario World love ;) Lol!
I bet Streets of Rage is still good to play, it's been a fair few years since I've had a go on that one, but I remember it being brilliant playing it with my brothers.
Keep forgetting you can download Paper Mario, bet there are many hours of play in that one, if it's anything like 1000 year door :D One of my friends used to go on about how good a game it is. A future download, no doubt!

Oooh Street of Rage, I love it. I think I still prefer the first one though simply because it was the original and it was mind blowing at the time, although I think in reality the sequel is a better game. I still love listening to the soundtrack now, it's epic!

if you liked the thousand year door munkle you'll love papermario! the thousand year door improves on it in nearly everyway (it's number1 alltime fave game lol) but papermario is up there in the hills hall of fame:D it came out at just the right time for me as i'd just got out of hospital and was stuck in bed. (oh the horrors:p) took me (if my memory serves me right) about 20 hours to complete around 3 days worth of gaming at the time. to say i was addicted would be an understatement!
if only papermario was online i might actualy beat some of you at something lol!
huzz i'd have gone for the original streets of rage too mate but i hadn't really played the seccond that much so it was a little fresher for me. i spent so much of youth playing streets of rage it's frighting!
great thread munkle;)

Okay, seeing as I've updated the top 5 WiiWare, I'll update this list. And I'll also cheat and list my top 5 virtual console games, those nuggets of nostalgia that make us smile at their infinite charm :)
1. The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past.
2. Columns.
3. Zelda: Majora's Mask.
4. Wave Race 64.
5. Sonic The Hedgehog.
In no particular order. These are what I've mainly been playing lately, but it'll probably change soon when I get back into Harvest Moon and the Mario games :D

Hi Munkle...:)
How's it going....
I haven't downloaded any VC games lately..
I've only started playing again recently..
I still have 1000 points to spend too..
I have a Cowboy style shooter game that I downloaded..
I can't remember what it's called..In one part you shoot at a moving train..
If you like shooter games it's pretty good..

Hi guys :)
Good to see your name back on here Ivan. Wild West Shooters I think you're on about. Always fancied trying it but there are just too many I want.
Need to sort my top 5 out again. 1080 Snowboarding will be on there now I think, but which do you get rid of? Wow, it's like being an x-factor judge! ;)
Need to download the Star Wars games too. But I know how difficult they are, and with my low tolerance at the moment there may be some broken remotes littering the floor! Lol!

Hey Munkle....:D
Wild west shooter..that's the one..
I got so fed up of being awful at Call of Duty that I
downloaded wild west so I could use the nifty gun that i bought..
I've also got Links crossbow training which is pretty good..
I dont think it's a VC game though..

Agreed. Link's Crossbow training is really good, enjoy that game :)
So did you say you have yet to buy any Virtual Console games, as I understand Wild West is WiiWare isn't it? I thought Duck Hunt might become available (or is it?)
House of The Dead: Overkill is my favourite shooter so far (for use with the zapper). Though it takes a back seat to Dead Space: Extraction, only I haven't tried it with the zapper yet. Ghost Squad is supposed to be a good shooter too, and more lighthearted.
Another VC classic I downloaded recently is Pilotwings, and some C64 greats. There are just too many on there, could spend all day downloading games! ;)

I have downloaded some games..
I'm not sure if they are Wiiware or VC games..
I am easily confused and my memory is as bad
as....thingy.
I played a version of Pilotwings in an arcade years ago
where you had to pedal a bike to keep the airship thing you were
in up in the air...
Am I thinking of the right game..?
