Get ready for Onslaught; the first First Person Shooter ever for the WiiWare™ platform! With tight controls, a horde of enemies to blast away, and some of the most intense action you’ll ever find, Onslaught sets a new standard for FPS on Wii™.
In the distant future, contact with a distant research colony is lost and your team is sent in to find out what happened. Upon arrival, you’re attacked by overwhelming numbers of mysterious creatures. It’s up to you and your squad to eliminate the threat and discover the truth that lies deep inside the colony.
Being the first FPS on WiiWare, Onslaught gives shooter fans the action you’ve been waiting for. Taking advantage of the precise motion controls of the Wii Remote™, you’ll be in full command of your soldier as you tread through treacherous terrain. The action stays tight by aiming with the Wii Remote. You'll need steady hands if you're going to survive the horrors that await. When running low on ammo, give the Wii Remote a shake to get back in the game. When the odds get overwhelming, a supply of grenades will keep enemies at bay by throwing them using the Nunchuk™. Get set to play an FPS unlike any you’ve ever played before!
The enemies of Onslaught are no pushovers, which is why you may need to team up with a friend, or two, maybe even three! Get online and play in 4-person co-op to increase your chances of survival!
Anyway you look at it, Onslaught delivers. Get ready for a new standard of FPS action with Onslaught, coming for WiiWare.

I like Mario Party, but I can see your point with Bomberman Land. They all get in wrong sometimes ;)

Onslaught, WiiWare's first FPS, is available for download for 1,000 Wii Points from today.
In Onslaught, players are sent on a mission to find the reason contact with a distant research colony was lost. Upon arrival, they find themselves attacked by an overwhelming horde of giant bugs.
You'll use the Nunchuk and Wii Remote to aim, shoot, reload and toss grenades at the creatures in order to survive. As the bugs get bigger, so do the weapons. You can also jump into vehicles and send the insects crawling back to their holes.
Onslaught features four player co-op so you can also link up and play with friends to battle the bugs together.
It's a game that developer Hudson hopes will fill a gap in the Wii market: "It's clear that core gamers feel that there's a void in games that cater to them on Wii," said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. "With Onslaught, we're aiming to fill that void and give gamers the option of an affordable, accessible, first person shooter experience on the Wii - something that hasn't been done before."

THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
There seems to be a general apathy towards it on the forums (apart from one of them ;)) but I can't understand why. For £7 .. .. .. .. worth every single penny of that.
Just finished a 4 player game and realised how bad I am at FPS but who cares?

This certainly has my interest, but it'll be a few months before I buy it due to having so many other games to play.

im having great fun with it munkle:) (it's taken gameov3r by storm)
only played through the first few missions on easy so far so can't comment on the single player to much
first off if you have ever seen the film starship troopers thats basicaly what this game is:D you start off with four guns at your disposal
machine gun
rocket launcher
semi machine gun
shot gun
d-pad to switch guns, B to shoot
then you have your nunchuck operated grenades and an electric whip thingy majig lol
you can also drive jeep type vehicles with double lazer cannons but i prefer to walk;)
the action is frantic to say the least! with bugs coming at you from all directions (land and air) and a few boss battles thrown in for good measure:o
different missions so far include
defend the base
search and destroy the hives
a vehicle mission
(and many others which i can't seem to remember lol)
online
so far i have only played the 4 player co-op which is great fun! it makes such a great change working together rather then fighting each other! the weapons you unlock in single player are then useable online (ive not found any yet lol)
there are also online leader boards etc etc which i havn't looked into yet.
the scenery can be a little samey and theres no run button but for £7 (1000 wiipoints) who's to complain?
my personal opinion would be that for the price the single player game would be worth the points but with the co-op mode etc it's a bloody bargain! my fave wiiware game to date!

Cheers for the quick response mate :)
Sounds great, and a lot better than I imagined it to be. The general opinion seems to be a positive one, and I'm liking the sound of the 1 player mode as well as the online co-op. It's amazing how much depth they're putting into these Wiiware titles.
Wonder how many other games they're keeping under wraps like this one?

another little detail i forgot to mention is after the first level (single player) you meet up with two soldiers who then become your computer operated team mates! you can switch battle formations with them by pressing A8)
im not great at explaining things (as you can probably tell ) hopefully captainff might pop in and do a propper review!

Let us know how you get on with this, Tontolini. The more feedback the better. Reviewers seem to be in five minds about it, whilst the gamers rave highly about it. I recently read IGN's review of it, and it's farcical. Seriously, look it up if you want a laugh. I think they let the work experience kid review it

Welcome back ;)
Instead of this I opted for 4 gamecube games inc. the 1st Medal of Honor game which is a fab FPS (and one of my favourites), Eternal Darkness, Die Hard Vendetta and MoH Rising Sun. I'm just a bit concerned this may get too repetitive too quickly from the many vids I've seen. I don't know.
