Just stumbled across an interesting topic, your top 5 wiiware games of 2008. Or top 2/3/4 if you don't yet have 5.

This is Wiiware World's top 5, with an obvious number 1, some may say ;) http://www.wiiware-world.com/news/2008/12/wiiware_world_best_of_2008:

Mine is:

1. Final Fantasy: My Life as a King.
2. Toki Tori.
3. Bomberman Blast.

Think that's all I have at the moment, but may be wrong. I've got games coming out of my muppet hole at the minute. I'll check when I get home later.

So, let us know your top Wiiware games to date :)

Forgot to include the actual link in my first post so it's updated. World of Goo, I imagine, will be at the forefront of most people's top games :)

Do any of you feel like the Internal storage of the wii may be a problem soon. I think the size is 1gb. I know there is an SD slot but could you have these games stored on a SD card or will it always go on the internal storage.

Its worse, internal storage is 512mb I think.

Only got the 2 games so far but I'm sure to buy a few more this year as I've been pleased with the games so far:

1)World of Goo
2)Bomberman Blast

Ahhh, when memory capacity used to be an issue! Those were the days ;)

I have revised my top WiiWare games after a recent purchase :)

1. Water Warfare (possibly the most enjoyable and FUN FPS I've played, with a unique twist that no-one dies, just gets wet. Fully supports 8-player online play with many modes like Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Last Man Standing/Battle Royal to keep you happy).

2. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King. As addictive now as ever. The downloadable content just adds to the longevity of the title. Looking forward to My Life As A Darklord (due out in the next few weeks).

3. Bomberman Blast. The online and offline modes are hilarious, and this is still a must-buy for anyone who enjoys fun multiplayer games.

4. Toki Tori. Highly acclaimed and highly addictive. One of the best platform puzzlers I've played. And recommended.

5. Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People. Good puzzles, lots of zany humour and endearing (read: cool) characters that'll have you laughing for many hours. From Telltale Games, you're in safe hands with this point and clicker.

Considering I only own two Wiiware titles to date makes it slightly tough to give a top five :o

So Bomberman Blast and Water Warfare it is then, and at this early stage I'd say Water Warfare is winning it. Great game! The fact that the title is so good makes these closing comments by the IGN editor fill me with rage:

Too often you see a second opinion from an editor whose viewpoint is redundant -- an echo of the critique in the initial review. To heck with that, I say! I therefore submit this vigorous rebuttal to Daemon's review of Water Warfare. While he clearly believes this is a pretty good kids' first-person shooter, I think it's a laughably bad, dated, shoddily executed FPS and that its many shortcomings shouldn't be overlooked because of its target demographic. I mean, you can give a dog turd to a monkey and the poor thing might just eat it, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a dog turd. All you need is a quick whiff of Water Warfare's archaic control setup (slow, unresponsive), its ancient graphics (blurry, sluggish) and it all-too basic level designs (point, shoot, run, repeat) and you'll find yourself involuntarily wincing at the foul flavor of it all. I was certain the game was 500 Wii Points, and even that would be overpriced. At 800, it's offensive.

So if you feel like you might align with my opinion, feel free to drop another two points off the final score.

He's probably upset that there was no excessive gore on screen to make him feel like a real man. I mean, for one you can change the sensitivity of the controls (in fact turning was so quick after I changed it I almost considered slowing it down again!). I'd say this game is more innovative than most of the "generic" crap that they give 80%+ to, just because they have graphics that give middle-aged men stiff underpants seeing as they are in HD. Woooo! How exciting. He also needs to upgrade his TV as the graphics are actually pretty sharp, clear and smooth in most places, and fully functional. But, sadly, they aren't in HD quality so you may not get the feeling of manhood your ego derives from such progressive televisual triviality.

To be honest I weep for the state of adults who instantly hate something for trying to be different from the norm. Reviewers so set in their arrogance they refuse to believe in originality if it doesn't immediately appeal to them visually. Maybe one day these people will get laid, drop the attitude and realise gaming is about fun, and stop segregating the market with this 'hardcore' nonsense. If you play games you are a gamer. Period. The type of games you enjoy makes you a human, with different tastes.

Anyway, good choice of WiiWare games so far Huzz ;) :D

not made it anywhere near my top 3 but downloaded the 'poo yous' in the week for my 3 year old son zach!

by no means is it a great game (very short and very repetitive) but it's gotten him use to the wiimote and he's now making his own mii's and is a dab hand on the photo channel lol so anyone with very young children this might be a way to get them into wii'ing;)
