Yeah, I'm actually enjoying AC better again now that Nook has increased his hours again, it was awful before when he shut at 9pm. I don't even mind about the smaller shop as I have hundreds of flowers and didn't always buy all 7 plants anyway.

I think I might have caused myself a problem though with keeping the wii 4 hours behind time. I don't seem to have many fish or insects to catch and by not many fish I mean like only 2 a day if that. Hopefully it will resolve itself over time otherwise I will also have to restart. From what I can gather I should have altered the AC clock before I started playing and then re-adjusted it afterwards, rather than alter the clock on the will. Oh, well, we live and learn.

Never mind, I thought it was due to me having the laptop close to the Wii at first, but even after I'd moved it I couldn't open my gates after it disconnected me. Think they must have been having a few problems.

My answer would only be biased towards 'yes', but it depends if you like chilled-out community-building games. It's certainly one of the most relaxing experiences ever, and can become very addictive. It's all down to what sort of gaming genre you're into I suppose. The fishing matches we have are quite hilarious, though it usually boils down to someone being chased by an axe-wielding nutter ...

hey Spotter, you should buy it now. I ordered it last DECEMBER BUT GOT GIPPED BY PLAY SO i had to wait till feb when i got it on an auction site.
wE HAD tHe gAMECUBE VERSION AND IT WAS GREAT TOO, BETTER IN SOME WAYS.
My kids and wife all play it, sometimes on the ds sometimes on the wii.
I only have the wii one and play just about Every day.. sad/ maybe... but I love it anyway, I think I have at least half an hours play every day for a year.

Its all gone quiet again. I currently catching Sharks, sunfish and coelecanth(when rainging) every night.
Also, Beachvils huge flower gardens are teaming with bugs, come by if your stuck for one to fill your list, but no running please.
I think maybe a team sneaking up on those beetles from different directions will have better luck... they keep putting me to sleep...

Glad to hear you're still enjoying it :) I've not loaded my copy up for well over a week due to having too many other games to get through at the moment, and with the sessions on Call of Duty with Covey the late nights I spent on it have also dwindled. I've still got that gift to send you too, which you probably already have by now :rolleyes:

I have restarted my AC game for no particular reason other than I felt like it. My new town is great and the layout is brilliant. I will post my new friends code when I get it later tonight.

I now have to reload all my old friend codes so can my friends please repost their codes then I can be totally idle and not have to wade through all the pages of posts to find them.

I will try to get online with it in a couple days and see if I can get lucky enough to come visit some of you instead of the freeze I usually get when I try to leave my town.

Crackers is what I am, didn't you know. I just got bored with my other town and its layout and no matter how I tried I couldn't get rid of the residents I hated. I even tried sending them hate mail and wacking them with my axe, but the little beggars just wouldn't leave, so I decided I would.

Shame about my hybrid plants and my museum collectons though. Think I might stick around in this town for a bit longer otherwise I'm never going to get the golden rod or net and I actually love this town.

Caught a Dorada and a Napolean fish last night and Blathers was amazed. Haven't caught lots of bugs yet really, and I haven't even seen a Bluewing Butterfly.
Is it me or does it go dark early on AC, I was playing the game earlier this evening and it was only about 6:30 and it was nearly dark on there but there weren't any clouds and the moths were out before 7:00.

Yep, got my sandcastle a few days ago. Are the scorpions about yet? The reason I am asking is that I got 'bit' last night by something extremely quick and I didn't see it. Don't think it was a tarantula as I usually manage to get them before they get me.

I have just asked Pelly about my environment and she said I have too many trees in one area but I don't know where, so I have just chopped one tree down in every area and will see what she says. A nice fat hint as to which area would be good or an aerial view of the town would be brilliant, especially when we are looking for scorpions in their hiding places.

The Gamecube version used to have each square of the village mapped with a coordinate, and Pelly would advise you where you had too many trees (or not enough) planted by grid reference. But I guess they dropped that feature when they opened the world up.

May go scorpion hunting tonight, and get lots of chainmail on or something in case it attacks me again! ;)

I've caught loads of tarantulas and been bit by scorpions but not actually seen them apart from a very fast blur. The best way to catch a tarantuala is if you manage to see one from a distance go around the back of it and sneak up on it.

Still haven't seen a Bluewing.

We had a couple of dry days in Beachvil so Iv'e had to water lots of flowers. One thing i do is keep an old tin can near my Black rose bushes and swap between that and my golden can so as NOT to transmute any of the roses.
However.. it isnt working, I'm watering the Black roses with the tin can and next day, THEY'Re GOLD! its a big pain as Im down to two black roses now and six gold.
Something in the game has noted I own a gold can even if im not carrying it and still transmutes the roses!

That very same night I got bitten, there were another 3 scorpions in the village. I managed to catch one but the others got away somewhere. There are some fascinating bugs around at the moment :) Nice to see the museum looking healthier at last.

Pick your black roses and plant them somewhere else and stuff something else between them, a pansy or something should do it and they should be ok. Only guessing though.

Finally caught a scorpion last night. I spent ages hunting one down and finally gave it up as a bad job and went in my house and when I came out again there was one of the little devils with his back to me. So I nabbed him quick. It must have been a lucky charm because immediately after catching the thing I caught a Napolean fish followed by 2 sharks. Enough to pay my mortgage off anyway. Hopefully I should have a cellar tonight when I get to play.

Hi guys, I will answer you both in the same post if thats ok.
It is because of hight security settings that I can't leave my town but we have now swapped over to Apple from Windows and we can't find the bit in the network settings which allows us to use different security for different items therefore everything is set to sky high security. I think I will have to ask Apple about this as its driving me mad.
I did once manage to get out of town and go and visit Old Daddio but that was it and I think it was a fluke, and also very few people can get through to visit me and the only one with any real success was KKid. It doesn't really help that I can only play late at night when Phil has finished with the tv and everybody else is usually going to bed by then. Oh well.

How the hell did you manage to get blue roses? I have 1 orange rose and 1 orange cosmos. Other than that I have a lot of orange pansies (what's with the orange) and loads of pink tulips which are gorgeous.

Thats the only trouble with it really, it's just too time consuming. I find I am putting all my playing time into this and am hardly playing anything else. Think I might start just playing a couple of nights a week and my residents will just have to survive without me.

Yes, time consuming, but If I dont get in the week, Iplay 2/3 days in a couple of hours at the weekend. Sad isnt it. But its such a fun little game.
I got a blue rose by having a group of black and purple roses planted together, I also have pink roses, pink cosmos, pink, purple and black tulips and purple and blue panzies.
Phew.. still would like more blue roses though.
Thank good ness its raining again and limiting how much watering I have to do.

It's not sad at all if you find enjoyment in it. :) It is a great game, and will always be a favourite series of mine, but I really hope they expand on the idea for the next game and introduce more differences.

Yeah, I'm reading it, but I haven't played in months so when I start playing again I'm going to have to go to my calendar and check the date I last played otherwise my town will be an absolute mess.
