are you just walking in and being extremely lucky?
or are you ringing up before hand?
Also is only possible to get them in the first 4 minutes of the store being open?
Manager of Game Lakeside said he sees a crowd of people waiting for the store to open EACH morning. fkn ridiculous!

I rang my smaller game store at about 9:05am in the morning on the 2nd, the guy said he had 3 delivered that morning and i was the first person to ring and he said he would hold me one wil 10am. when i got there the store was totally empty.
On the other hand people are writing about occassions when theres already a queue forming outside the shop before its even open, so I think it depends on where you live...

Someone on here yesterday said ring Argos before 9am - i did this morning and they had a fair number available throughout Manchester for reservation.
Picked it up at lunch :-)

Nice one, you feel pretty chuffed when you finally get one.

you must have a pretty good argos there.
i have tried the same thing with my local argos (east kilbride) and they told me that they only get 1 in with each delivery, and it is hard to get hold of it.

Which number did you phone? They have quite a few of them, one's automated, one has staff on, etc. It would be nice to know which number would give me the best chance of getting one.

It is great!! Have spent all night on it. I would have been going to Asda now to buy games and controllers but a little bit of alcohol whilst game playing prevents that till tomorrow.
I rang Argos at 8.50 this morning, expecting a brush off. Got a really helpful women (i think it helps if u don't mention the wii, just give them the catalogue numer). She did a quick search for Manchester and found 14 of them in three stores when i cut her off (she got to my local tiny store!!, so it is likely there were more, she just got to the most convinient store for me, who had not one but TWO available!!!! It's worth mentioning my three local Argos's are Argos extras (i live in town)- none had ought. I got it from a crappy tiny surburban High St Argos near where i work.
Reserved it there and then, they held it till tuesday evening. Needless to say I'd collected within the hour...... LOL
Argos seem to be distirbuting them regionally when they get stock so one region will get a load, then the next etc etc so it's worth to keep checking. It probably helps they have a main warehouse in trafford pk manchester :-)
Number is 0870 600 3030 option 4 cat no 5683257 .
They have been really helpful for me. I rang them after i got the console looking for Wii play, they told me they expected them into their Traff Park warehouse last week but have had nothing from Nintendo.

will take a leaf out of your book and use the same method with argos over the next few days. worth a go.

Go for it .... the Argos idea worked for me.
I just reserved the only one in Fife but if anyone else in eastern Scotland is looking (or further afield if you fancy a drive) she did also mention that Argos in Perth still has one .....
Off to collect mine now! :) :) :)
