Did anyone play online back in 1999 - 2003. Toy Racer, Planet Ring, Chu Chu Rocket!, Quake III Arena, Speed Devils online. Thanks to the Dreamkey i saw the web for the first time. I was like WOW! and internet p0rn OMG. I am such a nerd. No it was great fun playing people online. It blow my mind back then. Now online gaming as moved on so much. I never though i would play games like MOHH2 with 32 players online. It's amazing. God knows what we have in the the future.

My first online gaming experiences have been on Wii (sheltered life me) and your right its great, I wish I'd discovered online gaming from an earlier age, to see the differences from then to now must be great and regarding the future....well things can only get better I guess, I'd love to see 3d games come alive on a glass table like an advanced board game with touch screen controls on each side of the glass table and like characters acting out in 3d to win the game.... how great would that be, aside from that I can't see the next progression other than faster processing power on smaller chips....with gaming once you've achieved non-lag crystal clear graphics where can you go with it.... I still like my 3d glass table idea :D

3D table = Virtual Reality. Hope so.

I remember playing my Atari 2600 in the 80's and thinking WOW.

Yeah the good old Atari... single red button in the corner and the control stick....

Regarding my table idea, you know in Star Wars when R2-D2 projects that 3D image of Princess Layah to Luke Skywalker ...well something like that but the image is controllable...

Well this looks promising....

Damn, drat and double blast they've nicked my idea :D yeah thats kinda like what I'm going on about, surely thats the future for gaming, being almost able to touch your characters in gameplay...how amazing would that be (the general concept of the idea I mean) or is it just me

It's a great concept and one I bet that loads of
gamers would love to see become a reality....

In Star Wars there was a holographic style chess game
that Luke and Chewie played with moving characters that "took"
eachother by fighting...
Now seeing that realised would be fantastic..lol

Thats exactly the idea! it would be great and it would seem could come to fruition in our life time :)

Never really got to play the Dreamcast, but my brother had one. He had some great looking games, the most memorable being Shenmue. There have been rumours for some time that they're going to revive some of these games on Wii. I really hope they Sega do :)

I'm not sure about hologrammatic board games. They're still essentially board games ;) But the concept is cool.

The next step I'd like to see are like total immersion videogames like in Red Dwarf. Connect the headset up to the brain and lose yourself in 100% liveable, breathable virtual reality :D
