Hi Guys, i'm new here and looking for an answer! lol

When playing Mario Kart on the wii (and in particular online) in almost every race atleast once i get a message pop up saying Communications With The Controller Have Been Lost - Touch A To Continue

This is driving me insane as it then takes a few seconds to work again thus losing my place in the race as the other players have driven on by ......

Anyone know what causes this and if it can be fixed?!?!
I have checked all the settings and sensitivity settings but still no good :(

Thanks

Sounds like the battery connection is dodgy. The Wii remote has a spring type arrangement that holds the battery tightly for when you swing the remote around. See if you can pull the springs back out as they sound like they've flattened slightly.

Hi Summergurl...
Firstly you need to establish whether the problem is with your
controller or console..
I know you've checked all your settings but I'll go through these anyway..

Is the sensor bar set correctly..If it's below your TV choose that settiing
in the sensor bar options.

Put new batteries in.

Try re-synching the remote to the console..(details are in the Operations manual
that came with your wii)

Wireless devices close to your wii or controller can sometimes interfere with
frequencies...ie: mobile phone,mouse keyboard etc.

If you have one or can borrow one, synch a second wii remote to your
console and see if the problem is still there

If the sensor bar is on a highly reflective surface that can sometimes
affect communication too...

Failing that try a Game cube controller...

There is a thread on the site about Nintendo servicing wiis for free..(I think)
Don't know if that incudes remotes though..

Last resort..Google Nintendo service centre number and give them a call..

Good luck...:D :D

When it says the message, is the light on the remote still lit or do you have to press a to bring the remote back on?

It just sounds like it's your batteries...

Maybe they're always low. It's all I can think of =/

This is the strangest thing I've heard yet with regards to faults. Did you say it only happens with Mario Kart?

To be honest I reckon your best bet would be to give the Nintendo helpline a call. If there's an hardware fault they'll give you quick and easy advice on how to remedy the situation :) They have fast response times apparently.
