Howdy folks !

Just spoke to play and grilled the poor CA on the other side of the phone as to why the lack of updates and or information.

According to play they keep recieving stocks just like game and tesco and they are shipping them as they come apparently its just trickling through atm and Nintendo arnt giving dates to retailers their just shipping them out as and when they roll off. So apparently Play will send you an email prior to dispatch as normal if thats any indication at all.
So my advice would be to hang onto your play pre orders until you can secure one on the high street or from another source online.

And about the shortages, Nintendo say theyve run out due to them doing a multinational launch which as you can imagine could be quite tricky, but unlike Sony who are DELIBERATELY with holding PS3 stock nintendo are pulling out all the stops to meet demand which has as we all know exceeded expectation. Looking at sales in the US so far theyve sold 1.8 million units in just under a month where as Microsoft have sold sold 2 million units in one year which tells you only one thing. That the X-box 360 is not what gamers are really after in a next gen console its the Wii for its shear ingenuity and interactivity.

Anyway thats my take on the situation so ignore your peers who say it looks crap and say it il be too difficult to use since they obviously ar weak minded and not open to new and strange things :P

If you are going to put up sales figures it would be better if they where correct. Or even remotely close to being correct would be nice.

Bit harsh there!!!!

Admitedly the figure in the link from captaidy1701 show the 2 million XBox units over 1 month not 1 year with Wii selling 1.8 million.

What it does show is that Wii came out mid November and sold out within hours yet still achieved those kind of sales figures.

People do want something different from a next gen console now, it's not all about the graphics anymore (at least not to everybody).

Consoles sell as fast as they can be made at the start. If there had been 4 million wii's available at launch. They might have sold, who knows.

I think Microsoft has nailed this generation, the mix of the best graphics of the three and a massively better online experience has assured that. For me the Wii comes next offering something totally unique in a great looking package. The PS3 is a mish mash of the 2 with no originality. Its a jack of all trades that doesnt do anything best.

Thats why for me having a Wii and an xbox 360 is the best choice and when woolies deliver on the 15th thats what i'll have.

But to be honest in 5 years time it wil likely end up PS3, 360, Wii in that order. Cause there are too many sony fanboys.
