Go to www.wiitalk.co.uk and see just why YOU MUST NOT ACTIVATE THE REP SYSTEM EVER ON THIS FORUM.

Honestly .. .. .. .. it's got messy over there.

Be happy that you are on a distinguished road .. .. .. and thankful it isn't the Rainbow Road :D

Although I'd hope the rep system would work better on WiiFind (because we're a lovely bunch) I'm still not convinced. Also, the preset reputations are a bit crap so I'd need to think of some new ones...

the problem over at chalk seemed to start when the forum started to rapidly grow:( regulars rep there friends newbies beg for rep then get neg repped people rep spam to get rep back lol then you get get the anonymous neg reppers who thinks it's funny:mad:

it is always nice to read your rep comments though when you have been helpfull and i was always a fan of the system in the past

Sounds like we should lock the doors shut and we remain blissful here by our chummy selves :D

I've seen various incarnations of the rep / karma system, from a free-for-all, to a system where the normal members can only give +ve rep, to a system where all rep is approved by the staff, to a system where staff are the only people who can give rep.

Whichever system is used it is ALWAYS abused, or appears to be, and causes more problems than it solves. Hilly has outlined some of the problems that have occurred on that other forum and they are not the only forum to suffer a similar fate.

Please? Stay away from it because it will only harm you.

id say its ok for the staff to be able to give rep out, because the fact that their staff should meen they can be trusted

Do you mean that only the staff can give out rep? Then the staff 'favourites' get rep and the people who don't get on with the staff get none .. .. .. .. been there, done that .. .. .. .. .. seen it happen all over .. .. .. .. honestly .. .. .. you don't need it.

What is the point of a rep system anyway? I fail to see how it adds to a forum in any way! Completely pointless.
