doing tricks and manual drifting doesnt improve my times at all or grand prix performance? when i do a trick someone overtakes under me, same when drifting especially when your hit mid-flow. same applies on time trials i was struggling on a few tracks, such as coconut mall..did it with no tricks, wheelies, jumps etc and cracked it by about 6 seconds:o dont see the point if theres no advantage.....

There are indeed some point's where you're better of not doing a trick. If you do one on one of the fountains in the mall, you lag alot in the air. I ussualy don't bother unless i need an item.

Also the trick corners in like maple treeway and Koopa cape are useless. Some ramps are slower as well, i think driving by that little ramp in moo moo farms is faster than doing a trick on it.(and theres one in koopa cape as well)

Wheelies do help but not by to much. And can you do multiple mini turbo's in one bend when you're on automatic? I've never tried it, but if you can't wel then i think manual is better.

I agree with your point on jumping, especially on Moo Moo Meadows. I used that ramp all the time at first until I realised it served no purpose. I found it too difficult to really make the most of manual handling as, like Spotter, half the time I'd hit the wall or just not seem to gather much pace from the boosts.

But then you see those people online who look like they've had rockets stuffed up their tail pipes. Makes you wonder how they manage it :(

I feel like i can take mucher sharper corners manual. I guess it depends on the course mostly.

Ill take mario circuit 3 SNES for example, that one is just one giant drift. When i got dry bones and bullet bike i just shred it open so to speak :p.

But on luigi circuit it's hardly of any use. Thankfully there are a lot more tracks that have a lot of curves ;).

Also on the like the upwards bend in jungle parkway leading to the ramp, i can get 3 mini turbos in there wich helps alot.
