Considering the 20 squillion awesome games of yesteryear on the various and numerous consoles we've all owned or played, which one game has stood out in your memory that you would love to see either a) remade into a modern classic, or b) brought back to the virtual console service or similar?

Don't limit yourselves to one choice. Go nuts and have two ;)

Good choices :)

I always wanted to play the original Ultima game again. Wish they'd release it on VC or spruce it up for a Wii extravangaza release.

Or what about Outrun Wii? Utilising the Wii wheel. Online multiplayer, races through California and touring European destinations, tearing it up in the Rick Astley loving Holland ;)

Yes it was. A game Namco released in 1982 apparently. Excellent game too :)

Wonder if it'll ever make it to VC. It'd be a welcome addition.

Which Dizzy, Hilly? I loved Treasure Island Dizzy :D Brilliant game. They were all pretty similar, but awesome nevertheless :)

Oh man, that's the one I was trying to think of :D These are must-haves on the C64 when/if they come out :)

Didn't they also make a spin-off called Bubble Dizzy? Can't quite remember the premise (bubbles, presumably ;) ) but recall it being damn cool too.

I do remember that, yeah :D Wow, it all comes flooding back! Lol! And Sabre Wulf? or Wolf? Sure it was Wulf. Another classic, even though it consisted of running aimlessly through endless jungles! Lol!

Games did seem harder, but I put that down to appalling collision detection and terrible pixellation! lmao! ;)

I've not seen it on there yet. but that doesn't mean anything ;) Lol! Wonder if it'd still be any good today. I'll do some digging around tomorrow. Might be able to find a playable version like those others I've put around here somewhere :D

The Speccy was cool too, to be honest they seemed quite advanced compared to the Atari and Acorn Electron (I'm lucky enough to have 2 older brothers who just had to have every computer under the sun, so got to play on a lot of the early computers). Do you remember Pitfall? They did an updated version which was supposed to be absolute crap.

What about a re-release/remake of Head Over Heels. There used to be so many isometric exploration games. There was a Dracula one I remember, and another about a detective. That memory's a little hazy, to be honest ;) Lol!

Lol! Jet Set Willy: The Mile High Club ;)

Junior, it's one of my dreams to have DK64 on the VC. I hope it's not one of those games caught up in a legal hiatus; a nowhere place where games disappear forever. I'd love to relive that game, and I can't see a DS verson doing it for me personally. As much as I love the DS, some things are just meant for the big screen ;)
