I called the Braehead store yesterday to ask about stock, the guy said as there was no deliveries yesterday (it was a scottish bank holiday) I should phone back today.
To me it sounded as though he was sure they were getting some and was dropping a hint so I planned on going up this morning (about a 20 min drive from Greenock) and being there when they opened at 10. My alarm didn't go off however and i slept in and woke up at 9:30.
Here's the important bit: I decided to call before heading off, and the guy who answered said when I asked if there was any in, "Would it make you happy if I said yes?"
Long and short was, a very small delivery was due in "as usual". They don't even bother putting them on the shelf, in fact, there IS no shelf for them to be put on. I asked what time the delivery would be, and he said any time, but after 12 would be preferable. I told him that I'd be up then and chance my luck, and he asked for my surname.
That's when I realised this guy was going to put one aside for me and I told him I loved him. I just headed up straight away though and stuck around the store for a while, and just had time to give a friend a quick shout to let him know about it and he managed to get one aswell. While i was in the queue getting Monkeyball a short while after, I saw a woman buying one for her kids but i dont know if she had phoned in too or just got lucky asking at the desk. At this point a guy came in and asked if there was any and he was told they had sold the last one.
So that was at least 3 for sure in this morning. The guy I spoke to seemed to be pretty nice and quite senior in the shop. His name was Stuart. So I guess a good idea would be to call in the next few days and even ask for him by name because he seems to know about the deliveries and is very obliging at putting them aside for you.
Good luck everyone. It looks like Scotland is doing pretty well stock-wise at the moment, and I can vouch for at least one GAME store and say they do a damn fine job. So keep trying guys!
Also: the Wii rocks.
