Thought I'd put a little message in here updating the 2 MK competitions that are held each month on the Mario Kart Channel. Anyone going to enter this one? Sounds pretty cool. And what have your favourites been so far? I've noticed a lot of you guys don't seem to be entering them much at present.

Here are the details for the contest:
Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong just love to litter Bananas all over N64 DK's Jungle Parkway. Avoid the Bananas and reach the goal as fast as you can!

I think these competitions are a huge score for Ninty, I can't think of any other game for the other consoles that offer this kind of regular addition to a game. I have never entered these comps because I'm just not good enough but I hope we see other developers take note.

You should give them a try, Local. It doesn't matter how good you are as long as you have fun trying :) I wouldn't call myself a particularly great player but I always have fun with them. But you're right what you say, it certainly adds longevity to the game and it'd be great if other developers took note of their dedication to the game :D

This new competition with Diddy and DK throwing bananas at you on DK Jungle is possibly my fave yet. It can be quite hilarious (in a very frustrating sense!)

My best time is 2 mins 39 secs so far. Is anyone else going to have a go? I'd recommend it, especially after the last competition which was a little tedious really imo.

That's by no means a crap time :) One of the guys on my Wii finished in over 4 mins. I wonder if he was using his butt cheeks to steer.

It's so annoying trying to beat that 2 mins 39. It seems impossible. I need to start unlocking better bikes or something. Not much time left, this one closes tomorrow night. Or tonight even, didn't realise how late it was! :p

The beautiful blue ocean of Koopa Cape is the setting for this competition. Clear all the gates on the course in the right order. If you miss a gate, clearing the next one won't count, so don't miss any if you want a fast time!

Anyone tried this yet? I had a quick go but found it a little on the boring side. Bit of a let down after the previous comp' at Koopa Cape. Makes you wonder how long they can keep these competitions fresh for though :D

This is another addictive competition, and couldn't drag myself away from it last night :D Only a few seconds out of the Continental Rankings, so something to aim towards.

I had a go at this one but I've become so used to racing with a bike
that I couldn't control a kart properly and hit all the coins..
I did record a time but that wasn't really at speed.
I'm going to play around with different karts and get better at this one..
It ends on the 25th or something so there's time..
I like this comp it's a good one...
Pity you can't use bikes though.

I know what you mean, it feels weird using a Kart, but I've found one that I use with my Mii, and it's a damn fine little Kart, great cornering/handling and good boosts too :D Maybe it's good that it encourages us to try different vehicles after all.

Yeah, just yourself, me, Shane and Spotter I think up to now who have entered. Bit disappointed with the rest of these slackers ;)

Looks like you recorded the best time out of all of us for this competiion..
I did have a few more tries but I kept missing the coins on the hairpin bend.
In the end I gave up..NOT GOOD..I know,
Usually I get a bit obsessive and keep trying over and over again
but this time I got fed up...my loss:confused:

This one is pretty easy just throw bombs at the pokey and avoid its gaint spikes... Come on guys give it a go!...You know you want to :p :)

It was more firing practice than driving skills..

I had a couple of goes but wasn't sure how many times you

Judging by what others had put I wasn't in any rush to play it. Nevermind eh? ;) It's going to be difficult for them to keep dreaming these new challenges up. 2 a month for how long? :?

I've just downloaded the Mario Kart Channel again, since having deleted it I'd totally forgotten about these monthly competitions. Is anyone still taking part in them?

I'm going to begin a personal Mario Kart revival, and hope to get myself back into it starting tonight! Lol!
