We havent had any feedback from the online stores so I thought I would start a post with your sucess/failures online.

*We are about to release an SMS service that sends texts out as soon as stock comes in on the big stores such as Amazon, Play and HMV. Amazon in particular only releases stock they can sell instantly so you if you get in quick enough you can get your Wii in days.

Anyway, here is a list of the current top merchants for getting a Wii quickly.

Please reply to this post with your feedback (successful or not with these merchants.)

1. Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0007UATDG?ie=UTF8&tag=wiifind-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B0007UATDG) - Amazon release stock in the mornings between 9 and 11. If you get in fast enough you can get a Wii within a week.
2. 24 Studio - Delivery time unconfirmed (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-2206515-10449620?sid=WiiFind24Studios&url=http://www.specials.24studio.co.uk/page.asp?b=ChristmasSpecials2006&p=2042&o=1&s=14)
3. Additions Direct (http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-2206515-10292614?sid=WiiFindAdditions&url=http://www.additionsdirect.co.uk/AddNet/shop/Additions/-c22412-kAboundXmas06-n556/category.aspx) 9 weeks!
4. Yes Asia (http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=18290&wgprogramid=231&clickref=WiiFindYesAsia&wgtarget=http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-c/section-games/version-all/did-5/pid-1004512384/) Japan version in stock (2 days delivery) but at a premium price.
5. Play.com (http://playcom.at/bargain?lid=WiiFind) - Similar to Amazon in that they are now only adding stock they know they can send out. But again very hard to get it before it sells out.
6.Power Play Direct (http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=18290&wgprogramid=107&clickref=WiiFindPowerPlay&wgtarget=http://www.powerplaydirect.com/asp/itemdetails.asp?prodID=1357347&currsec=ac&itemsec=ac&selectsearchby=ga_PS2) - Delivery in 3 weeks although they take payment before delivery unlike Amazon
7.PowerPlay (http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=18290&wgprogramid=107&clickref=WiiFourmPowerPlay&wgtarget=http://www.powerplaydirect.com/asp/itemdetails.asp?prodID=1357347&currsec=ac&itemsec=ac&selectsearchby=ga_PS2) - Recently in stock. Now 1-3 weeks delivery.
8.Savastore (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=1122&id=36955&clickref=WiiFindSavastore&p=http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10294383&pid=0&rstrat=9488) Available within 1 - 2 weeks.
9.John Lewis (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=1203&id=36955&clickRef=WiiFindJohnLewis&p=http://www.johnlewis.com/Computing/Gaming/Gaming/Consoles/4988/ProductType.aspx) Wii has been coming in and out of stock (very rapidly) in the last 2 days, it is worth checking regularly
10.Amazon.de (http://wiifind.co.uk/buy/Amazon_de/3243.html) - In stock reguarly. See http://wiifind.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1437 for information on how to buy.

We will add more notes as people post. As soon as we hear of online stock it will go here also. As well as the Buy Wii table (http://www.wiifind.co.uk/buywii.html)

I've got One Click ordering set-up on Amazon incase I ever manage to refresh and see them avaliable on there.

I did try when they released some on the afternoon of the 8th but I didn't manage to get one unfortunately, my mate did though so I have played on his a bit.

Yeah the Amazon Marketplace is like another eBay. Amazon just take the payment on behalf of the marketplace vendor. Amazon themselves are playing it by the book.

oh yes, guess i didnt make it clear in my post >.<

all i meant was that amazon dont have any in stock @ £179.99 but the marketplace is selling em for well over £300

Just to note that I managed to bag myself one from Amazon (not the marketplace), just before Christmas. Was just a case of checking each day to see if they had any in stock.

Had a few problems with delivery, but I think that was because it was so close to Christmas.....plus they refunded my delivery cost coz they messed up :)

I'm not sure where this thing about PowerPlay taking money before delivery has come from. I've ordered one from them and they havn't taken any money and state on their site that they will not do until the item is ready for dispatch, which is exactly what most online companies do.

It might be worth placing an order with them, at least you know there is one coming your way and if you do find one you can always cancel the order as they shouldnt have taken your money beforehand!

2. 24 Studio - 14 Day delivery (apparently, please confim)

Theres 2 things wrong with this

1) you cant buy if your under 18 which is stupid
2) you cant spend £150+ online store... Whats the point in having it advertised there if you cant buy it

aka, just take this off the list

wiifind

Strange about the under 18 bit. Is 24 Studio credit based payments? If so then im not supprised. A lot of catalogue shops are.

Also we know that many people have managed to by Wii's through 24 studio. Not sure what you mean about the over £150 limit? Why would they have it as a product on the site?

Has anyone ordered a Wii through 24 Studio that can let us know how it went?

harman_kardon

You need to make an initial purchase (say of £10 or so) before you are authorised to make an order over the value of £150. It's like a credit rating thing to see how reliable your funds are.

Bit of a long way round if you ask me and I'm pretty unsure about how reliable the 14 day delivery is.

wiifind
08-01-2007, 01:05 PM
Ah ok. Strange system. Seems pretty popular still though. Il keep it up but change the 14 day delivery info.

Ive also now added PowerPlay (http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=18290&wgprogramid=107&clickref=WiiFourmPowerPlay&wgtarget=http://www.powerplaydirect.com/asp/itemdetails.asp?prodID=1357347&currsec=ac&itemsec=ac&selectsearchby=ga_PS2) which was in stock over the weekend. (now 1-3 weeks)

Hi, I have a Studio 24 account so I thought I'd give them a call.

I asked about item 223-053-78IM which is described as "WII CONSOLE AND WII REMOTE AND NUNCHUCK STYLE CONTROLLER AND WII SPORTS AND RAYMAN RAVING RABBIDS OPTION 2" and online it said that it would be 7-10 day delivery.

When I asked the advisor whether it was in stock she said that "this item would be despatched in March".

I make that 7-10 weeks not days! :(

Yeah, I ordered from them too and it said delivery 2 - 3 weeks on the web but was then told on the phone it wouldn't be delivered 'til Feb which was about 8 weeks!

Found a Wii sooner so cancelled the order sharpish!!

Hello, I decided back in November I would look into getting a Wii for my blokes birthday (end of January) so I kept looking online and no luck finding stock. I kept trying different sites and Power Play quoted quickest dispatch, they informed me when I placed the order I should receive my order 3rd week of January. Which i though great. I decided to phone yesturday to check they now are quoting February and said they cant guarentee my order will be part of that batch they are dispatching. I am going to keep checking on this but I am expecting them to say 'March' when I phone this weekend!! Nightmare!!

Despite glued to my PC for the last 48 hours, I've had no luck in acquiring Wii online.
Yesterday after work, I walked in to my local Woolworth knowing full well that it was unlikely to have one.
How wrong was I! They had the last one in stock and managed to procure it in the knick of time!
Perhaps it's an idea to pop into Woolies or Argos once in a while.

I heard a rumour from my Mum that Wiis were available from Amazon.de so I had a look.

I got a Wii, an extra remote, nunchuck, Red Steel and Zelda and by the time i'd paid for P+P, it cos the same as getting it from the UK.

The website said it would take 1-2 weeks to come, but I ordered it last Saturday and it arrived at my work (I work in a biiiig hospital, but DHL brought it straight to me, no post room shenanigans) Tuesday morning.

I strongly recommend trying Amazon.de if you're sick of going to shops and getting nowhere.

I forgot to mention that I don't speak any German, but I am familiar with Amazon.co.uk so getting around the site was easy enough.

I didn't need to set up an account because Amazon will recognise you on any of their sites.

Will buying it from Germany make any difference to the console and what it can play? Or is it exactly the same as the one on sale in the UK?

Dom

They're the same bar the plug for which you will need to get an adapter. They use a two pronged(?) plug in Germany so it wouldn't fit in UK sockets. Other than that it's the same.

Great Dom, thank you. I might consider that. I can't buy for another month anyway, but if they're still out of stock everywhere in 4 weeks time I think mine might have to be a German Wii. :D

Thanks for the tip ktvl69.

In the last couple of days, Game has had a couple of bundles in stock. They had some yesterday and they had some earlier today. They have put some more back on the site today. I guess they just keep getting more deliveries and they put them up on the site as soon as they get them. They do sell out quite quickly though, check out www.game.co.uk (http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p=12813&a=1296444&g=16188850&epi=WiiFind&url=http://www.game.co.uk/lowdown.aspx?lid=6958&cm_sp=Wii_-bundles-_-wk11_newbundles).

Although Amazon UK is all out of stock, Amazon France has got Wiis in stock AND they're cheaper than in the UK (£172 vs £179.99) which will cover the shipping costs.

You don't need a degree in French to order one! All you need is your login details for Amazon UK. Simply click on nos conseils personnalisés. and fill in your email address in the Votre adresse e-mail est box and your password in the Oui. Votre mot de passe est

Follow this link Amazon Fr (http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B000JCET4C?ie=UTF8&tag=wwwwiifindcou-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1642&creative=6746&creativeASIN=B000JCET4C) or use the search bar Rechercer to search for a Wii. If you want to purchase the Wii click on Ajouter au Panier which will add it to your basket. From her you need to click on passer la commande which will take you to the check out. You need to fill in your password once more and then confirm your details on the next page et voila, you have ordered your very own continental wii.

Has anyone ordered from abroad, have you had any problems? As the UK and France are both in region 1 you can play the same games. The only problem is that the power supply will be different but all you need to buy is a plug adapter.

So you have them in stock, are charging £20 delivery, but you can't get them to us until 10th December? For £20 i'd expect next day delivery, at the worst 3-4 days.
