First night of the whole thing turned out to be a mess :P. 5 of us showed up and karatiekid was there aswell, but i doubt he knew it was the tourney lol...

Anyway the first GP was mirror mode wich resulted is some people driving backwards, besides that most races where pretty close. Karatiekid sprinted ahead a couple of times, and we all enjoyed smacking JR in the wall and/or water :P. (Note, there where hardly any blue shells i recall, exept the one hitting me.)

Afterwards we had a little balloon battle, wich was good fun aswell. And i was a let down, ben did all the work ;).

And ofcourse the chat room was full of abuse and random things, wich is always a good laugh.

In any case we pretty much decided this isn't going to count, also i suck at taking pictures and had to use a "fun" match for results.

Hopefully things will go a bit better next week. It was a good learning experience either way.

Tonight started of pretty slow, but eventually people started dripping in. I was expeting someone els *cough* local *cough*, but o wel.

Ofcourse we started of with mirror mode again, it really likes to do that i guess. At least people wern't driving backwards this time :P.

I had some trouble in the first two races ( thanks lightning cloud ) and ben took the lead most of the time. For the other 4 races it was me who managed to keep a lead.

I recall lots of shell tossingin the back as well. I got lucky in the third race as well, as shell just missed me. But overall there seemed to be some kind of bad luck aura with everyone ( last minute banana peel for JR and more lightning clouds all aroud. )

And ofcourse the chat room was full of fighting words again.

( the problem here is that i can only write about stuff i saw :P, so post away about you views.)

Can't remember anything during the tournement, other then a nice shiny bike in the first four races. :D I'll keep quiet about that, think they have been using their bike too much.

No d/c's, great smooth 25 minutes tourney, even if 'someone' didn't quite follow the rules.

God damn that's annoying! I hate it when you're near the line and end up finishing 12th, when everyone runs over you or crushes you into the ground.

Ok, so can someone go through the scoring for this tournament for me or do you just cumulate the in-game scores?

Also I had an idea :shock: ,with more notice and just for fun we could incorporate a themed mii competition...so for example tomorrow nights Courses are all N64 so whoevers playing must use a Mii that looks like a particular character, we could all make the same character and someone Judge with extra bonus points being awarded, it could make the end results interesting....it was just a idea anyway and I thought I'd mention it :roll:

It would be pretty hard to judge as well, you don't really get a good few of other drivers.

But putting in another type of scoring element is a good idea.

(i have tried putting in the scores from past weeks, but some of them just don't add up. next time it'll be updated with all the right ones i can find.)

That took me about fifteen reads before it sank in, fortunately the brain is kicking in again ... and I have to agree that your idea is pretty damn good. it would certainly be fun to see what monstrosities everyone else has created. It is possible to record gameplay...I'm not 100% sure but I guess it has something to do with the video out point on your TV and maybe a camcorder?? I know some people that have done it and then posted the vids on YouTube, do a search on there for MKR Barrelroll and you'll see what I mean, I won't post the videos on here as they may advertise another forum.

Could we not create a Mii, take a photo of it on the Mii Channel or wearing the racing suit on Mario Kart, upload it onto Wiifind and post it on a new thread called 'Your MK Character Photos' or something? Then it could be judged before the race, or via a poll, and points attributed fairly that way. Or something.

But your recent suggestion keeps it nice and simple, a photo in the lobby, uploaded and voted on. I think that would be cool. And not that much hassle if we sucker Eric into doing it :p

Ok so If I understand this right from Munkle and for the benefit of the many guests intrigued and wanting in on the action, the Tournament is an 8 Track Tournament whereby the first Grand Prix will use the first 4 tracks listed above and in the second Grand Prix the remaining last 2 tracks listed above are then played with the last 2 courses for the second Grand Prix being chosen randomly by all. is that about right? for noobs to this Tournament (i.e. Me) having it called an 8 Track and only specifying 6 tracks confused me initially :oops: could someone just reconfirm wether points scored are just for the six tracks listed or for all eight tracks raced?

Well "the 8 track" is just a title :p. You know ..cause an 8 track is retro....and all the stages...yeah, sorry if i confused anyone. I try to give a title to every night.

The first Grand Prix will have the first 4 courses, the second Grand Prix will have the last two.

The last two races of the second Grand Prix will be for fun (or you could quit if you wanted to)

What I did is that I saved the results of our positions on the races, I didnt actually add any points up because i know you do your own points system.
