Wii Blank Screen

My wii has started to "hang" to a blank screen when changing channels. This seems to have only been happening since the last update. Is there something wrong with my console or is everybody having the same problem?

Most people have. I know col suffered the most. But not me :D my wii is and always will be perfect:D

Don't know if it's anything to do with the updates or not. I'm thinking it's something similar to a disc read error and the Wii can't find what it's looking for so it just hangs with the black screen.

Mines done it a couple of times, but it seems to be when I've clicked on another channel immediately I've returned to the home page. I've started to wait a couple of seconds before changing channels now and it doesn't seem to be that bad now.

Another one I've tried is to turn the power off to the Wii on a weekly basis for 10 minutes or so. No, wait, that's usually Gail unplugging the Wii so she can plug the hoover in instead, :rolleyes:
(Note to self: Get another socket installed for the Wii only)

Sorry I haven't been on lately. First I was in a bus crash and then I was poorly and the next thing I knew a month had gone by. Am back now though.

why not just unplug your wii at nihgt wii spark thats what do, ive heard stories of the wii cooking the cpu if the wiiconnect 24 is turned on cos the fans dont work when its on standby

I suspect it's a speed thing as I do have a habit of coming off one channel and straight into another. Will have to start waiting a couple of seconds like Wii Sparks.
