It seems to me that at the present time, Pixmania is the cheapest place to buy a non-bundled Wii. I am concerned that they ship most of their stock from Europe, so does that mean that the Wii's that they ship are European 2-pin plug versions? If so, what implications does this have?
They offer a pickup service from a place in London so I would have thought they are UK consoles.
However, if they are EU ones I think it's just a case of rewiring the plug for the 3-pin UK one and you're good to go. I've done this before myself with a power amp which is fine.
There are no issues mentioned on this Wikipedia page either: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mains_electricity

No implications what so ever as many members have brought a Wii from Germany and they work fine. You will need to get something like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=19246&doy=18m2 or chop the 2 pin plug off and fit a normal one on.

I'm guessing that if you rewire the plug you may invalidate the warranty, but the adaptor looks OK. I was more concerned over software compatibility etc. I am assuming that everything sold in the UK is EU and will work if the machine has been shipped from Fance..?

The games are all compatible, in fact they are all the same and will work fine. You have nothing to fear, apart from getting future Wii injuries LOL
It shouldn't void the warranty on the unit because it's removeable but I guess if they saw you'd done it it would give them an excuse to say "Well there's your problem" if anything goes wrong.
You can buy replacement power supplies for the Wii though so if you are concerned about warranty you could use one of those instead.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I ordered through Pixmania. Stock came within 3 working days and i was not charged until stock was despatched (not what most people are claiming). The system has a european 2-pin plug, but they included a UK adaptor, so count me very happy right now... Looking forward to getting started tonight!!!
