I got my DS about 2 months ago and I dropped it today accidently and the top screen has cracked. I've never ever claimed warranty before and I don't think the standard 12 months warranty covers accidental damage. What should I do.
I'm going to call Nintendo tomorrow anyway but thought I'd get some advice from wiifind first.

You might be able to claim on your house insurance if you've got accidental damage cover. Should come under pc's and consoles.
Might be worth looking through your policy, ;)

Thanks for your help Spark. I have to admit I'm a bit of a tight ass when it comes to getting cover and stuff. So all the stuff you've mentioned umm I've not got.
ahhh bugger this is not looking good..

One thing worth looking into is www.GTelectronics.co.uk
They fixed my DS after the R button broke, it says all the prices on there. Thats if you cant get a ninty fix :P. They said it would take upto 30 business days, but I wasnt atall prepared to wait that long, so i used GT instead.

To take your DS apart and replace the screen yourself is not too tricky.. .. .. I recased mine when the hinge broke. I bought the replacement from consoleplus who are a UK based company and their delivery service was excellent.
They don't have the top screen in stock at the moment, but here is the link you need anyway

(oh.. .. .. nearly forgot, the tri-wing screwdriver at the bottom of the page is essential to be able to take your DS apart)

Once again thanks.
