alright you guys ..and girls. For my end grade for Dutch C i need to do a fancy report. Now i chose to do something with the consol market and related.

First gaming machines (I shall call it that....) was a commodore C4 and an amtsrad CPC464. Back in the day of tape deck games and black and green screens.

Mum got me a computer and I loved it so I nagged her for different consoles whenever they came out.

1.d Why didn’t you get into it before this time.
Were they invented? hehe, I was a bit young I think.

Xbox360, PC, DS (hopefully soon a wii) and for some reason we still have a Spectrum ZX kicking about.

2.b Wich one is your favorite and why.
debatable depending on the kind of game, MMO/role playing and strat are best on the PC and driving, shooters and platformers and best on the console (xbox), fun and cutesy games are best on the DS

3. what are your favorite type of games? ( genres )
strat, role playing and driving, occasionally like fighting games

3.b What are your least favorite?
shooters on occasion, just so many and it gets a bit dull. You need a good twist or something different to make a shooter good. Gears of War lasted about a hour in single player but is ace online for example.

No. Its playability that gets me. a game can still be rubbish online.

Good massive online role playing games

its amazing how far they have come in a decade, imagine what it will be like in ten years to come....

An updated version of Pong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong). There were 3 games included; Tennis, Football & Squash.

14ish (I can't remember that far back)

1.c How did you get into gaming in the first place?
Parents bought it one Christmas, it was a whole new concept for home entertainment, all be it very basic.

1.d Why didn’t you get into it before this time.
I don't think there was anything before it.

2. Wich current Gameconcols do you own right now ( PC/laptop counts if used for gaming obviously )
Amiga 500, SNES, PC, Gameboys: Original, Pocket, Colour, Advance; DS Lite, Wii, PS2 and PS3

2.b Wich one is your favorite and why.
Has to be the Wii because of the innovative control and the way it's brought gaming to the whole family.

3. what are your favorite type of games? ( genres )
Usually role playing games, adventure and puzzle types. Have to keep the old grey matter turning over.

I'm not keen on first person shooters, I could never see the attraction with them, but RE4 & Scarface are changing my mind about them.

Not really, but if a game has online play then it can make the game more interesting.

3.d What type of games would you like to see more of?
RPG's, Fantasy horror.

4. What’s your opinion on the current state of the video game market?
The Wii market seems to have plenty of games around to keep all ages of gamer happy. And there are more games for the older generation on the DS. As for the other consoles: to me the PS2 had started to go stale, maybe because of the release of the PS3. Can't really comment on the 360 market, as I don't bother looking at any games.

4.b And that of the future?
Can it get any better than what we are experiencing now? Maybe virtual reality games are just around the corner. Imagine running through Hyrule as Link.

Not too sure but I remember my Dad installing Jazz Jack Rabbit on the MS-DOS and for some reason that game made me fall in love in games and PCs. :p

Too busy watching BBC kiddie shows, like: Fireman Sam and Pingu.

N64 because it has one of my favorite games of all time, Super Mario 64.

Maybe the Wii will over take it one day.

My favourite type of game is platforming games, like Mario.

Hmmm this is a tough question because I enjoy many type of games.

Probably going have to be MORPGs games like World of Warcraft because: they take too much time up, can be very repetitive and boring in my opinion.

No because I perfer standed split screen mutiplayer over online.

3.d What type of games would you like to see more of?
More 2D platforming games like the orginal Mario and Sonic.

I like the way how Nintendo has made more people interested in gaming with Wii Sport, etc.

But I hate the way Mircosoft and Sony try and take over my living room entertainment hub box.

Well you never know what to expect but maybe one day all the hardware forces (Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony) can make the ultimate dream console, the Nintendo StationBox 3000.

Mircosoft can pay for it. :D And make the online serive.
Nintendo can make the games.
Sony can market the console.

Yes because it adds longetivity and in most cases fun

Rapidly expanding, with the wii and ds drawing in new gamers, sony and microsoft got it wrong targeting an audience that is barely there any more

Everything download with no shops needed, loads of people playing, ppicture perfect graphics and accurate virtual reality, with some traditional joypad games as well would be my guess.
