View Full Version : Getting around the global login
If the global login is causing you problems and you want to just log into the forum separately from the rest of the site, just change your forum password within your profile options (through 'quick links'). It doesn't change the password for the rest of the site you when you go to the forum page and log in with your new password (for the forum) at the top it will look as though you're not logged in at the top but if you scroll down to see the forum you will be logged in (as I type this is the case).
Let me know if this worked for anyone!

not had any probs today, is it fixed now?
The solution has been developed and it's being tested for a few days before being rolled out fully.
I recently formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp which has ie6, so i upgraded to ie7 and now when ever i go on forums i have to type my username and password, even though i ticked the box to remember me. Anyone got any ideas to fix this?

Try ditching IE7 and download Mozilla Firefox instead. A much better browser :)

I haven't had that problem with IE7 but I have lost my auto-complete on the desktop even though all the right boxes are ticked. Quite annoying really, as well as stupid, as I still have auto-complete on the laptop and the settings are exactly the same.
Do you have cookies enabled? That's how it would 'remember' you but if they're disabled (or deleted) it will forget you... and not send you a birthday card... and blank you in the street...
Yes. Everything is set the same on both the desktop and laptop. There just seem to be no reason for it. It isn't life threatening but it is irritating at times.
