was just discusing this in the chat room. There won't be any online games coming our for a bit. But i was wondering how people feel about a wiifind ventrillo / teamspeak server for the likes of brawl and maybe mario kart in the future.

Yeah I thinks it is a excellent idea. I reckon we should do a beta sometime before the big showdown.

Right i think i got a server running and it needs testing at some point. If you feel like it go here first: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php
Scroll down to the "Clients" section and Download :
Windows i386 - 32bit 2.3.0

When its done install and run your ventrilo client.

Klick the arrow next to user name. Klick new and type in a name. Press OK

Next press the arrow next to "server". klick new again and type in a name. Fill the fields as shown in the picture. Password : Wiifind
Press OK when done

Press connect "Connect" back at the menu and it should work...hopefully.

( if you have a router go you might have to portforward port : 3784. Go to your routers IP adress
( http://www.ip-adress.com/ should work, did for me ).
Then go to virtual consols on the left and enter it like this.

Now do the same again on another line only then pick the UPD instead of TCP option. That is unless you have the option of choosing "both"
Klick apply changes at the bottem )

Pick your router, then pick Ventrilo from the list and follow instructions.

Let me know if someone tries. If it doesnt work it's prolly at my end somewhere.

Don't worry My old comp from 9 years back ran ventrilo and an MMO just fine togheter. Just try it first, it hardly takes any kind of space.

wel i'm looking into to it right now, and ill prolly get it up at some point. If anyone tries again let me know, but try between 5pm and 10:30 pm ( aka when im home )

---------------------
Managed to connect to my server again. Also it's setup when my internet connection comes up. So that means you can try when im not home ( least if someone is using this computer ) But still between the mentioned time, then im sure the server is up and running.
-----------------------------
More update, i logged on to my server using the laptop. Using the settings from page 1 so it seems to be ok

Hey Eric, any ideas on another program that might work more easily than Ventrilo, I still think getting a chat server set up is an excellent idea.

The interface is a lot friendlier, problem is i have no clue how to set a server up on that. But ill look into it when i have some time again ( aka in two weeks )
