Copy cats?

Do you agree that other companies are copying nintendo? You must be able to back up your opinion with valid and true points.

i have a feeling this will turn into quite a discussion.

Sort of but I just reckon Nintendo showed the other companies what to do in the gaming side of the business from the start and showing their new audiences to be filled; but Sega did a quite a fews things as well. Overall Nintendo has just tooken the risks which have pay off in their unique way and which Nintendo are not as scared as Sony and Microsoft in taking risks.

I believe the other companies are copying to a degree. Nintendo have tried a different direction in gaming which has so far been successful. It's only logical that the other companies try to do the same thing.

This sort of tactic happens in almost every type of media. Look at music, when a band with a new kind of sound comes along and is successful it opens the floodgates for (what feels like) hundreds of bands with a similar sound. TV is the same, look at reality TV, almost every channel has a similar type of reality TV show now because it's successful.

I wouldn't call the others "slimy *******s" but they do copy. Doesn't bother me really though.

ok maybe i was a bit explicit but in my opinion sony and microsoft chose to go down the higher specs route, and now seeing they bin outdone by nintendos fun approach there trying to cash in on sum1 elses idea

I'd like to call a PS3 owner I know a slimy *******....all he keeps saying is how great his PS3 is and that the Wii will never have any "proper" games. Well at least the Wii brings people together with games that are fun to play because they encourage active and intuitive game playing. All the PS3 does is continue to keep your gaming nerd locked up in their room with no real mates to play with and the usual button bashing games to play......slimy *******s are welcome to it LOL

I don't think you can compare Wii to 360 or PS3 because they're totally different from each other. But the 360 and PS3 are very similar products, which are trying to fight for the entertainment boom box in my living room.
