We got back from a fortnight in Marmaris (Turkey) at 05:00 Sunday morning, so. I've been catching up on sleep, unpacking, messages and the dreaded back to work.

Just got to find time to print the photos, watch the dvd of the all day cruise, catch up with the gossip, try the narghile I bought, get through two boxes of Turkish Delight and then I can get back on the Wii.

Different than I was expecting, but we had a good time though.

It's just like all your usual tourist hotspots around the med, and just as expensive as well, :eek:

We went self catering and just about had enough money for the fortnight.

Examples:

Large beer £4
Tin of Tuna £2.50
Tin of soup £3
Two tomatoes £1
Two bananas £1
Loaf £1.50

It turned out cheaper to eat out every night and occasionally, depending on the restaurant, you got a free breakfast the day after.

Spent a lot on activities as well, Turkish bath, all day cruise, dolmus (local mini-bus) trips etc but all in all we both enjoyed it and said we'd go back again.

I'll put some pics up when I get round to getting them off the camera.

They filmed the desert scenes somewhere in Tunisia I think. There's no open areas large enough in Marmaris, it's a smallish area at the foot of some mountains with a bay leading out to some other bays along the coast with Icemelor and Turunc to the north west.

Not the one we went to, lasted a good couple of hours though.

First off you spend 15 minutes in a sauna, then move into the bath area under the dome where you can rinse off with as much water as you want before lying on a big marble slab. On there you get scrubbed with a loofah, to remove all the dead skin cells, cold shower rinse, all over soap lather and rub down, another cold shower rinse before moving back to a seating area to dry off and cool down. We then finished off with an oil massage lasting 1/2 an hour, then they dropped us back off at the hotel.

I'd recommend it to anyone going to Turkey but have one at the start of your holiday for a better tan. :cool:

Played Football today. Suppose it was our hardest match of the season so far. Manage to win though. 6-2 end result to us. Makes us still unbeaten, top of the table. Rain and mud!!!:( but we pulled through.

I've developed a method called 'Shut down'. Five minutes before getting to work I slowly begin closing my mind down, enticing out my inner robot which then takes over. It answers the phone, taps away on the computer, performs all the necessary functions until it's time to go home and I re-emerge ;) Lol!

Seriously, it's a little sad that these people are all so desperately unhappy with their lives. That's what you get from watching Eastenders and Jeremy Kyle! Lol! ;)

Well on Tuesday i went up to portsmouth and watched the 1st team train (no harry redknapp of course!) Got pictures with pretty much all the players and tony adams. Then after all this we went home for about half an hour then we went up to sheffield to watch the olympic boxing people traon which was cool. Now i have just got home really tired!

Yesterday...
I had a boring day. Then in the evening I went to athletics, brought a few mates aswell to train and lose weight lol. They're complety dead now.
Then my Dad who trains me was on call out and guess what he got called to go 2 work and fix a problem. I went with him and for the first time so where he works!!!! I thought he had some little crappy office!!!!!!!!!!! Not only seeing his high tec work pc he has 3 bloody hd 40 inch tv's in the room he works in! Couldnt believe it.

So i was just there chilling for a bit keeping warm drinking hot choco and eating sandwiches and drinking water. Finshed at this place and then got in my bro's car(his car is in service). In the bloody cold it had a failure in the fan belt and battery so went and fixed that for 20 mins until my dad got fed up and ****ed and started hitting the dam thing and guess what....it worked like a charm:D
Then was assigned to go to another site(even better looking office!!!!) sayed there for about 45 mins. Whilst then watched them do there I.t stuff and that, spoke to a guy going on about chipping my wii:p and basically munching on biscuits.
Then returned to my mom at 12:30am. Ate food, watched eastenders drank more water. While my dad went to fix the battery problem.

Although traveling up and downA Hard day's Night;) it was actually really great spending time with my father at his work place. High light of my half term

Now im off to bed good night

Today Im off school because of my back injury i got playin in yesterday football rivalry clash for my club.

So Im chilling in my room, cant move or anything. Finshed playing fifa 09 think im going on COD5 in a bit. Going to try and make it downstairs and put a pizza on:)

Today I woke up and took a stroll downstairs (still living upstairs due to house modernisation) and for the first time saw that all this hard work is beginning to take shape. We had crappy old artex scraped off yesterday and replastered in one of the rooms, and it amazes me to see the difference already (i.e. it isn't like stepping back into the 1980s. Why did people ever bother with artex, I ask you! :rolleyes: )

Just been chilling for a couple of hours and playing some online CoD, which amazes me every time I do. It's fabulously addictive :D

Making the most of this relaxation as we still have quite a bit to do in the house before it's done :)

I was in Gym on Friday...Guess I did to much. I think it was the weight lifting that got me and the leg lifting. My friend was telling me to go down on a lower weight but nope stubborn me didnt listen. So now look im here stuck with a injury.

To make it even worse I just find out I can't play in the next match on sunday:(. Cant do gym for atleast another week or 2:( Or go athletics training:(

Now today im going to have to do some walking. My cousin getting married tommorow and I got to get s shape up(looks good on ur hair) and some other things... so busy busy busy lol

yesterday was officialy a day from hell for me:(

unusualy had a weekend off (saturday was fine) sunday was a different matter lol!

i'd just down for breakfast when the phone rang and it was my son saying his car had brokedown! it was only a matter of time before this happened as jo and i had been nagging him to get it looked for ages:rolleyes: any i went to meet him to tow his car back home and guess what? he had broke down in the biggest puddle (flood) i'd ever seen lol

well after a good look which meant getting in the puddle we found out there was no towing eye on the front of his car (grrrr)
so i had to push the thing up a bloody big hill to try and bump start it (nearly killed me lol) i got it going then it cut out again in another puddle by this time it was absaloutley chucking it down.

i phoned the mechanic who said wrap the tow rope around the front of the car and tow it to his house (about five minutes away) so tied him up and off we went! pulled up outside the mechanics (after a minor bump on the back of my van lol)

anyway the rest of the day went ok (my sister visited from cornwall:)) then just as i was having tea my son came downtstairs saying bad news (we thought it was going to be an exspensive job) but no it was alot better then that! a drunk driver had lost control of his car and wrote off james outside the mechanics!!!!!!!! then ran off

the police have now got him in custody but he was already banned from driving so no insurance etc etc

Spent all day Christmas shopping and halfway through decided it would be preferable to have teeth pulled without anaesthetic. Think I will just buy all my presents off Amazon in future at least that way I won't get trampled on, pushed, shoved and generally annoyed.

I also managed to set off the alarms in practically every shop I went in and got fed up of having my things checked by security - wouldn't mind but half the alarms went off when I was on my way into the dammed shop not on the way out.

Cheers fella, I'll have to give them a try. I'm just dosed up on Ibuprofen at the moment. It lasts for a few hours and then wears off in the middle of the night. Once I've taken some more it then takes ages for them to kick in again.

Not wanting to sound like a druggy, but you can get codeine OTC nowadays too - 8mg codeine with 500mg paracetamol. You can take these on top of Ibuprofen although not sure if you can add Imigran to the mix too!

Also try avoiding anything with tannins in - so no wine, coffee or tea. Chocolate should be avoided too. Best of luck.

It's like any other job really, some days I enjoy it, some days it's rubbish.

It's strange about the views, I've worked here for nearly 13 years and you tend to stop noticing after that amount of time.

It is nice on a sunny day when I'm cutting the lawns though. Not so great in the rain lol!

Well I'm still jealous, I'd do anything to get a job where I can work outside some days, not just stuck looking at a monitor all day. But that'll soon be changing hopefully :)

You are correct matey, my profile did say that. My full time job is Facilities and Grounds Assistant, so I help maintain the building and grounds. But since I've got a bit of a reputation for knowing about computers, and since I'm studying for a degree in computing (which they are sponsoring me for), I have also become the in-house network administrator (or 'IT Officer' as my official title says).

So there you have it, building maintenance, groundsman and IT geek all rolled up into one Huzz shaped package lol.

I'm usually the same for waiting times, except an appointment last April. It took longer to walk from the car park and back than the time spent seeing the specialist. Car park time was 22mins, doc's time was about 10, :roll:

A wee bit chunkier than a the official GC controller
but not so much to put you off..

I went online and played karts using it
and played as normal...(distinctly average)...:-D

They are half price in GAME at the moment....£9.99..

Wireless GC controller sounds pretty good, my old GC controllers are starting to have a mind of their own during smash bros.

Anyway, i spent the day studying german en cleaning the house (parents coming back home tomorrow :p). Then noticed i lacked dinner, didn't feel like going to the shops so i threw some bits and stuff togheter. In the end i ate noodles with bits of chicken and a goat cheese/ honey sause with some toasted bread. Tasted better than you might think....
