OK guys, here it is. It took me some time to get it all ready, but here is your rough guide to clanbase.<O></O>
<O></O>
First thing to do is to understand the concept of player "personalities". When you sign up you get a Player ID (PID). This needs to be given to Wii Spark to be added to the Wiifind United clan.<O></O>
<O></O>
Once this is done, when you click on 'Admin' (top-right) you will see you are listed twice. Once as an individual, and once for Wiifind. For the Wiifind ladder you will need to join as the clan personality.<O></O>
<O></O>
Once this is selected, on the home screen you will see your name top left. It works like this:
<O></O>
Frolicols/Frolicols (individual personality)
Frolicols/Wiifind (clan personality)
<O></O>
You need to make sure you are registered on the Ladder to get started. To do this choose your individual personality, then click “Admin” (top-right) and then join Ladder. Click on Nintendo Wii, then the MSCF ladder. Once joined the quickest way to see the ladder player list is to log in as your individual personality then click on “My Ladders” under Ladders in the left hand menu.
<O></O>
When you have joined, you can challenge players by using your individual personality then on the MSCF ladder clicking on the X next to their name. Click on the MCSF ladder and all the players will be listed.
<O></O>
Upon challenging a player, you select a time and date. You can also select up to two alternate dates to challenge. Do not worry about challenging lots of players for the same date and time, the first person to accept will cause all other challenges to be cancelled. Basically it’s impossible to double book.
<O></O>
You specify your chosen stadium, and untick the “ranked” box (official match). (tick it for European ladder challenges thats seperate from our own ladder). I would also recommend putting in our chat room to meet up before if possible.
<O></O>
NB: Make sure you get the friend code from the player you are playing! To do that, click on their name, then click on the HID hyperlink (in brackets next to their PID). That will take you to their main user details, and you should be able to find their friend code in the GUID drop down box. If it's not there, message them! Make sure you add yours too! Click My Settings and then GUIDS in the main area. These are a list of all your game codes (often used for pc games etc to make sure people are who they say they are!).

To view or cancel your upcoming challenges click on "Agenda" (top right).
<O></O>
For the match itself, it’s in 2 stages, one on each person’s chosen stadium. The challenger invites first, and plays at home, after that match the other player invites and plays at their chosen home.
<O></O>
After the game, click on Pending (top right) and click the edit icon to put in the result. You can also rate the player and enter a match report if you wish.
<O></O>
Other than that, don’t forget Pending shows all challenged games and results to be entered, the calendar shows games and potential games on a visual calendar.
<O></O>
OK I hope that helps. Feel free to post questions and I or someone will answer them for you.

Just to add that using the challenges on CB will allow you to add the results yourself, saving you the job of telling Wii Sparks because the result is added to our internal ladder automatically.

Got my clanbase password sorted now so I've added myself to the ladder (excepted invite) however I think I've done it twice by mistake (thought I had to register the second personality). How do I have one removed?

Go to Admin (top right) and click on the "X" next to the one to delete, you should have two personalities.

I've added some extra information regarding getting friend codes and adding yours to the site.

Also, don't forget the player's Mii should match their online Clanbase login. You will need to change yours if it doesn't match. The german guy I played last night didn't match so I told him to logout and change it. You can cancel the match if they don't.

Also, make sure the other player has 3 different sidekicks!

Don't worry about losing your MSCF friend code if you edit your Mii's name to match your name on the ladder. You only lose your code if you delete your Mii.

A further note regarding the points system.

It follows the chess ELO ranking system (also used in Miniclip's multiplayer online games). You start off with 1000 points. When you play another player, if you win, you gain points, if you lose, you lose points. But the clever bit is it works out how many, according to the ranking points both players have.

Example:

Player A has 900 points, Player B has 1100 points. This effectively means that Player B has a higher ranking and is the more likely to win. If he beats Player A, he would gain a few points, and Player A would lose the same number. If Player A were to pull off a shock victory, he would gain a lot more points to reflect the win against a "better" player. In this example, a draw would actually mean Player A would gain a few points.

So, if you are a high ranked player, you could technically challenge low players all the time, but you won't gain as many points as from beating your peers. Also, if you lost to them, you'd lose a LOT of points.

The top 5 players also need explaining. The top player does not have a shown ranking. They can be challenged by anyone, but if the challenger is outside the top 5 the top player may refuse it. They cannot however refuse a challenge from a top 5 player.

If you do play the top ranked player and win, guess what? You replace him! It doesn't matter what points you have. But then you are on the pedestal ready to be knocked off...

is it ok if my mii name is ben then?

It should be because there's not much difference between ben and ben93, so I reckon you'll be OK.
Kracken1 could fall foul of it though with using the Mii name lewis. Some challengers may object and refuse the match.

When he accepts you will get an email confirming the match, and it will move from the Pending section to the Agenda section.

Then when you complete the match it will move back to Pending as it is waiting for you to enter the result.

And for my two pence worth, I think you should beat him.

Is he easy????

He's not awful, but I think you have the tools to beat him. He likes the hammer deke when you go near him, but he doesn't over-spam it.

A couple of the wins were sudden death but the other two weren't very close.

It's in the rules, 12.1

12. Arranging matches

The deadline for reacting to a challenge is 7 days after the challenge or 7 days before the war, whichever is later. If by the deadline the opponent still hasn't reacted to the challenge, they get a penalty of 5 points. If the ladder leader ignores such a challenge, they will lose their position to the second ranked player. You can set an earlier deadline for accepting the challenge, but then there is no penalty if the opponent doesn't react in time.Full 1on1 ladder rules can be found here (http://clanbase.ggl.com/rules.php?lid=4430)
