View Full Version : Online Update?
Not entirely sure if it's true or not, but my friend was just playing and his connection failed (standard disconnect) but when we went to view his points after reconnecting, he found that his overall score had dropped by about 3-4 points. I never D/c'd but from what I gather, there are no penalities as of yet... is this something new?

It's happened to me once, playing 2nd of 3 games, when disconnected screen flashed up. Logged back in to online play, when I checked my points they'd been reset to zero!!!!
I read somewhere that they knock 5 points off you for disconnecting even if it's not you that dc's.
Hmm, well I hope Nintendo do something about it, I haven't had someone disconnect on my yet, but I can imagine it's really annoying. Battle for Middle earth (PC) had something similar, where for the first couple of weeks, everyone used to DC when losing - that was until EA fixed it and docked points. I wonder if it is possible to patch console games in such a way?

If you disconnect, accidentally or on purpose, your losses go up by 2 and you lose 5 points.
If the other person disconnects, you do not get any wins, but you do keep the points for the goals you had already scored.
I try to keep my scores low when playing someone who i feel is pretty easy to beat. It's when you start slamming them in left, right and centre when they get p*ssed off and disconnect on you.

We'll have to start calling you crafty col from now on, lol.
I can see your opponents thinking to themselves "I can win this, just a couple more goals and I'm there"
Sort of gives them confidence in a funny sort of way.
lol that could be a problem - I usually play better against people who have good scorelines and a high rank. Gets me more motivated!
