I thought I'd warn you guys that Play.com are idiots.

I thought I managed to grab a Wii on Friday when they briefly came on sale about 5pm off their website, and 2 mins later they where sold out... I was chuffed that I got a confirmation e-mail though, so I assumed all was fine.

Anyway I noticed today the order progress stuck at "order taken" so i phoned them up to check it was still OK.

They answered very quickly and politely told me that the order I made was actually a glitch on the website, and they have not been taking ANY new orders. They're still fulfilling the pre-orders, and there will be no new stock till after xmas!

Thought I'd warn you guys who thought they had a done deal with Play...

On the plus side I just managed to nab one off ebay for £255 + £20 postage. Looks like a lot of buyers are too distracted trying to get one of ebuyer.com :)

Sucks with play.com fancy not notifiying ppl money grabbing sobs 255 + 20 for wii + wii sports still pricy ....

When you consider the ebuyer bundle cost £300 (if you get one) and I already have Zelda, and I don't want NFS or the other stuff, it don't seem quite so bad to me :)

I managed to order on from play yesterday, I thought it had got stock at the "Order Taken" status thingy but its just now switched to "Order Placed"...

Fingers crossed!

Not wishing to burst any bubbles of hope but I got one of the monday morning batch at play and the status always changes to order placed as they get stock in, i assume while all the wii's shuffle down to each order but then it changes back to order taken.

Your right, this is exactly what just happened :(

If I don't get one from play (and that looks likely) then I will be deleting my play account and telling everyone I know to do the same, I'm getting sick of all of these retailers stringing people along, hopefully they will realise its bad for business to treat your customers like dirt...

one step ahead boys, after being ****ed about by play.com from ordering in oct (start of) and only finding out i wont be getting it on release the day before i will never be buying from them again.

in my determination to get a wii i camped for 12 hours outside toys r us and it was so worth it.

wish everyone the best and think after these wii's get to geral release (ie not ****ing about) we should comprise a list of places not to use and plces to boycot (ebay, play!)

here here!! ....I phoned a gew Game stores and to their credit they were selling to those on a list first...but they are all crooks really...just out for your money and dont care about customers...bar humbug! :evil:
