Major login bug

Another member has found a bug that blocks them from using the forum permanently and could be the cause for the lack of members posting at the moment.
If a casual member (one that has no mod, admin or forum manager rights) changes their details within "my account" setting, they are no longer able to use there login to access the forum, but it does show them as logged in on the other pages of the site. It is not possible to reverse this problem from the user interface, and its not clear why it only locks access to the forum.
The member in question is james-vivian, I can PM his password if this helps. What ever the conclusion, the option to change details should be removed until the bug is fixed.

Another problem is logging in can be a bit strange. Sometime I log in and it appears not to work, but it says I'm logged in at the bottom of the forum even though I'm not. It can mean leaving the forum for 15 minutes or so and trying again, then eventually it lets me log in properly.....wierd, looking forward to the next update :p

I can help you there. If you look above the forums on the right you will see in green "Private Messages". If you click on that it will take you to your control panel where you can then fully edit your sig. If you want to add an image then your best adding it as a link within [img] tags because uploading a pic on here is very limited.

While we on the tournament tonight I stayed in the forum. When I went back to the forum I'd been logged out and it took a few attempts to log back in. Is there something that logs you out if your inactive?

Yes theres an auto logout in the forums.....and its a PAIN lol
I hope we can get it removed sometime soon because it does cause me grief sometimes. If this happens to you and you can't log back in then go back to the wiifind home page, or any page other than the forum, there you will see you are logged in. Just logout from there then log yourself back in. If that fails then you have to remain logged out for about 15 minutes before you can get back in:confused:

On another issue with auto logout, if your writing a long post then you may want to copy it (Ctrl + C) before posting incase you've been logged out. Otherwise you lose all your post that just took 15 minutes to write :mad:

A little trick to stop the auto logout is to look at the "currently active users" page. You never get logged out from there because of a page refresh. I often do this to stop the logout grief, hence I may seem like I'm in the forum all day when in fact I'm just pretending lol
