Version 2 has finally been released after much delay. I really hope that you like the changes and will make use of the new features. Please post all bugs, comments and suggestions in this thread. We want to make sure any problems are fixed asap.

Global Login
The site now has a global login system that allows users to control all features of the site that they are privileged to from one login.

Known Issues

- Forum colour scheme is temporary and will be changed!
- If you are not logged in from the global login then login through the forum separately the global login options are not present.
- PM Inboxes are limited to 50 posts. You may need to delete old messages. We will increase this number if possible.
- Signature images are not working

Thought I'd get the ball rolling on this topic.
The colour of the text that displays the date and time a post was made is very hard to see, can this be changed please.

Totally agree. The forum colours etc are temporary. Il make some basic changes today for the meantime. Then later the design team are working on a proper skin for the forum to match the rest of the site.

Minimum post count is now 4 so that you can write the word "cool" :D

Heapy, you are now down as a manager (mod rights). You should be able to play with some features for games, accessories and reviews. Let me know if it all works. Feel free to add some games, reviews descriptions etc if you guys fancy it.

If anyone in the forum wishes to add reviews then they should be posted in the forum and then a mod can add them. In the future all members will be able to add reviews but we will need to have some moderation features to protect us from spam first.

This is slightly more strange. I have absolutely no idea why this was locked? Was it locked by you in the previous forum? I cant find a way of unlocking it. Il have another try in a bit and see if I can.

I didnt consider the internal link problem before. That is very annoying and there is nothing we can do here. Its simply a case of the URLs not existing anymore. The same problem applies to the search engine rankings we had for certain posts unfortunately. Sorry about this, I know its very annoying but yes I think they will need re-linking :(

Nice one Matt, the new layout of the hole site and the forums look great. Just one thing that someone bought up already, the colour of the text is pretty hard to read. But apart from that the forum looks great and very easy to use and get used too.

Glad you like it mate! Yeah forum design version 1 is ready so that should go live soon. Then we are working on a second version that encorporates the same styles that the main site uses.

As AdminMods here we get very little control, limited in thread tools and none for other members, i.e deleting spam is not possible.

I really do like the new forum system, theres just a few things that need to be sorted out such as the account area and the lack of ability to edit/delete posts, which admins really do need to be able to do.

I think it was setup wrong on the backend. Give some moderation a try now. Il keep digging around to see if there is anything else I can change.

Instead of logging in at the top, click on a thread you wish to post on, you will be directed to a login screen that allows you to save your login details on your computer:)

Is there a way to stretch the page i find some of the writing quite small. I know you can press ctrl and scroll on the mouse wheel to make it bigger,but it doesnt stay that way permanently .

Both good points. I will update the ranks as these are out of date. In fact, which we are at it what do you want the ranks and post levels to be?

I will have to talk to the team about the login problem. I agree, we do need to have that feature.

The fact that you can do that is acutally a bug! We are working to remove that option as it will effect the global login. However we will work on an actual feature.

The table size of the site is fixed width. However if you need a permanent increase in text size you can do this in your browser. We have no plans to make a site feature that does this at this stage. If you think it will increase the usability of the site significantly then perhaps we can consider the option of a redesign.

That is probably just your browser, it will get quicker as it stores the temp files

i noticed you had a calander section on wiifind, maybe you could get any dates of releases events etc on their from either getting the mods/admins on it when/if they find out something.

also when i go into my account it just has a tab on the side about personal details which doesn't really contain any personal deatils besides password username and a list of games that i don't own (i think a list of all of them)

also realised i havn't got my mod abilities besides ones like edit delete etc, am i stilla mod or is this something that needs fixing?

Do you still have a ban then? The cookie trail seems to work fine for me, can you explain in detail? For example for me when looking at this thread, clicking on "wiifind.co.uk updates and feedback" lists all threads in that forum, "wii forum" lists all forums within this category and "forums" lists everything.

Load time may well be slower, I noticed this too. The site is a bit more image rich so this might be unavoidable but il ask them to look at ways of optimizing the dl time.

The personal details section needs lots of work. The games list has a big at the moment which should be fixed asap.

All the release dates are added to the list of games, is it not possible to transfer that info onto the calendar, save alot of extra work?

Is it also possible to have the option to sort the games page by release date, this will make it easier to see whats out and when?

Yeah the sort by release date had a very obvious bug that is being sorted! I agree with the calendar idea, would be a great feature. Users could suscribe to an email alert system that fires out emails a week before a new game comes out with links to preorder, reviews and the profile.

Love the idea. Il get a specification made up for the next version.

ye i like the idea of email, will it be email or pm as we get emails when you recieve a new personal message. well i think there is an option to anyway.
personaly i think it would be better to have a pm rather than an email, then if you did look through your emails you would see that you'v recieved a new pm.

If you look on the right hand side under the welcome rob message theres a link to your private messages:) from there you can get into your control panel

what i do now is click on the 'new posts' button so then i don't need to search the entire forum. although if there are many being in order of the last time something was posted would be good.

Yeah I dont like the way you dont get the private message box when you are in the threads. That might be something we can fix, il ask.

I think we can import emoticons into the site. Il have a look then maybe you guys want to design them?! Might be cool to have a fully custom smiles database made by members? Dont make anything yet because they might have to be a standard format. If not im sure our team can knock something together.

The post titles in the wiifind blog are small and looks a bit silly. Looks like dev have modified the style.css file and used H2 for the page title, can they change the post titles back to H2 size please?

Another thing:

When viewing a user's profile, for example the newest member Wiikey it shows they have made 2 posts but when you click the link to "search for all posts by this member" you get no results.

I think this is only the case for new members though, will do some more testing

Don't know if this has been metioned, but the date of the posts is not showing due to the text being the same colour as the bar it's situated on. Top left of the posts.

This has been answered previously, something on the lines of this theme being only temporary so the dev team will fix this in a future upgrade. So it looks like we have more improvements to look forward to :D

The universal login seems to have a problem. When I jump from forum to blog and start to do other stuff on the forum often I find it shows me logged out of the forum but still logged in on the blog page. If I try to log in to the forum nothing happens but I can't do nothing on the forum. To get around the problem I log out on the blog page, go to the forum then re-log in :confused:

It appears you get timed out of the forum but not the rest of the website. This means you have to log out on another page of the site before logging back into the forum. Can the timeout be extended to be universal and also make it so your not timed out so quickly?
