New Wii Retailers

The general consensus in the forum is that it is getting harder by the day to get hold of a Wii. However, Wiifind has been on the case and has unearthed a few possibilities for getting a Wii that doesn't involve queuing outside ToysRUs for 15 hours.

Buynewmobile are offering FREE wiis when you buy a phone. It is unlikely though that you'd get one before Christmas though.

Wiifind has found several Scandinavian retailers that are selling Wiis, as there is no region blocking, a Scandinavian Wii could be used in the Uk, you would just need to get a plug adapter. They are selling them and dependent on how long it takes to ship from Sweden you might still be able to get a Wii before the 25th. Megastore's website can be displayed in English whereas you might need to get translate bestbuy as its in Norwegian. A good translation site is

Admitantly i could have turned up 4 hours before and managed to get one, but where is the fun in that?

Sorry Alan I didn't mean to sound disparaging. It takes real dedication to wait outside in the cold for so long. It would be nice if people didn't have to go to such lengths to get hold of a Wii. But with such an exciting new console there were bound to be shortages. However I have offered a few alternatives to midnight queuing which might hopefully bear fruit.

I suspect that here are no real shortages, its silly marketing tactics by nintendo to make the Wii into a highly desirable object and it has worked hasnt it. The more you get frustrated at not being able to find one, the more you want one. clever!

Im sure they have stock loads in storage facilities all over the world, which are being seeped out into shops. Just after crimbo the shops will be full of them, its just a shame the kids who have their hearts set on one for christmas will miss out.

They've even managed to turn the DS into a desirable object you cant get hold of and thats been out for ages! I bought mine months ago but now i want to get another for a pressie, i cant find one for toffee.

Nintendo must be congratulating their marketing team with a nice fat bonus this year.

hmm i think ill have to que up one day, or see what stores have stock, it is very difficult to get hold of one, i should have placed multiple pre orders :(

On the subject of foreign retailers, amazon.de have wiis in stock, but they won't be delivered to the UK until after Christmas now. Prices are very similar to UK retail price.
