Nintendo have announced that they are recalling 3.2 Million straps for the controllers! Apparently too many TV's and windows have been smashed. :D

really?? HAHA, wait this doesnt mean I will have to wait longer for my wii does it? will deliveries be recalled before they get to retailers?

Not sure actually. Not as far as I am aware. PC World just for a massive confirmed shippment so I hope it wont effect that. Il let you know if I hear more.

Reading the bbc new site, Nintendo have said that they will replace any broken straps rather than recall them.

i posted about this in another bit. it was in thesun a couple adays ago with pictures of the damages. it was really funny. one guy hit his girlfriend in the eye with the controller and it was cloosed and all swoll up and red. and thjere was broken windows and tv screens and broken fingers and there is a website set up in america for you to send your pictures too!!

There has been alot of injurys from the Wii Mote i think i will buy myself a Wii Glove when i see one just incase.

Did you ever get the replacement straps and has anyone else ordered some. I got the new type, can't see them breaking at all.

My WiiPlay remote came with the old one - that broke when NOT under stress......

Contacted them re replacements (couldn't use the website; had to call & got told to email them), and the replacements are here - the new ones :)
